Construction on the controversial Dakota Access oil pipeline has begun and is expected to be completed within three months, its developer said.

Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) was granted formal permission to proceed with laying the pipeline under a North Dakota reservoir on Wednesday.

The $3.8bn (£3bn) project had stalled for months due to opposition from Native American protesters.

The Standing Rock Sioux tribe says the pipeline endangers its drinking water.

Trump backs Keystone XL and Dakota Access
ETP spokeswoman Vicki Granado confirmed on Thursday that construction resumed "immediately after receiving the easement".

An easement is special permit that allows a company to cross private land.

Comrade God Trump Trump had a partial investment - somewhere between $500,000 and $1m - in the parent company of the firm building Dakota Access pipeline, Energy Transfers Partners.

Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks says Mr Trump has sold his stock in Energy Transfer Partners. But another one of Trump's stock holdings, Phillips 66, owns a 25% share in the project.

It's unclear if the president-elect has also sold his stock in Phillips 66, as his last financial disclosure was in May.

"It Took $1.1 Million And 835 Dumpsters, But The Dakota Access Pipeline Protest Camps Have Been Cleaned Out"

quote:

Donald Trump won the presidency. He signed an executive order to get the Dakota Access and Keystone pipeline projects moving—and the environmental left has been defeated. They caused much grief when they descended into North Dakota to make a stand for mother Earth. Now, that the project is back on track. They left, leaving mountains of garbage in the process. Additionally, they left their pets as well. Local animal rescue groups have been combing the protests camps searching for abandoned dogs. They also set their camp on fire. In an ironic twist, the amount of waste left at these sites presented a danger that it could pollute waterways if the spring melt washes this garbage and debris into the Missouri River system; this is one of the main reasons why green protesters staged a weeks-long campaign against the pipeline project.

Well, it’s all done now at the cost of $1.1 million and 835 dumpster worth of trash (via Washington Times):

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wrapped up its $1.1 million cleanup of the Dakota Access pipeline protest camps on federal land in North Dakota, hauling away 835 dumpsters of remaining trash and debris. The site, once occupied by thousands of environmental demonstrators, is now vacant.

The federal cleanup at the last of the three camps, Sacred Stone, was declared finished Thursday.

A Florida sanitation company completed work that began Feb. 23 to hasten the massive restoration project started in late January by the Standing Rock Sioux.

Meanwhile, a local animal shelter rescued four more dogs found at the North Dakota encampment, bringing the total number of dogs found after the last of the protesters evacuated to 12.

That actually made me laugh and weep $1.1 seems so cheep...I think you should have let this thread go quietly into the night...You will not be aware of the original route of said pipeline (do tell)...let alone be able to quote said leakage from pipelines in Americashire jackal land, nor be able to state Trumps vested interests…this is before de-regulation kicks in

The complete cunt rascal in me truly wonders at the poverty of your mind. Now, you will have never quoted the original route given that your brain absconded from your thick skull long before I read your errant waffle. But you forgot to add in the policing costs…factor in delays and who made what share wise.

guffaws townhall.com I was just talking about that wonderful places two post ago
