"Gravy" is also the sauce that was served with pasta or meatballs when visiting ex In-laws too. Personally, I like red-eye with a slab of ham, eggs, grits, buttermilk (American) biscuits and a fat slice of cantaloupe. My Dr dosen't agree but I'm older and wiser than she is on these matters. Quantity of years does not always equate to quality of life.
As for the English language one only needs to visit Tangier Island or "Guinea Neck" to hear remnants of "Aulde English" to gain a complete misunderstanding of the modern version. My visits to England were limited to Yarmouth, Norwich and London back in the eighties. Like every seaman I enjoyed myself thoroughly and gained an appreciation for English grub, beer and trains.

Would Tennessee moonshine get me, Kay, our 3 dogs 2 parakeets and Bearded Dragon in? I can throw in a medic bag, and my stash of dehydrated veggies - if I can keep myself out of them.

Crap, I need to work on my bargaining skills.

chili does too have red kidney beans in it - and if I have some - garbanzo beans. Plus sour cream and grated cheddar cheese on top. Corn bread is really good with it, or corn bread - damn it, now I want some chili this week!

and for the number of people knowing about your bolt hole - that is one thing I have wondered about the tv show about extreme preppers. Why on earth are they letting themselves be shown on tv. Its as good as saying " come rob me in the event of zombie apocalypse".

when I moved to Arkansas from New Zealand, I was appalled to see people pouring sugar into their glasses of coke. Absolutely appalled!!!

It took me about a week to find out that people were drinking cold tea with ice rather than coke. Huh! Who knew? People drinking cold tea with ice..... very odd.

Always wondered about that myself, but then I consider reality tv to be anything but reality.

I think you're both underestimating how desperate some people are to appear on television, and how completely they can suspend their usual critical faculties about something not being a brilliant idea if they're offered a cheque for signing a release.

Well, if you go through the ATF you can get a permit to make grain alcohol to use in biodiesel, the neat thing is that the smallest still they license for said purpose makes about 3 times what you need, so, you cant let the stuff go to waste.....

Anyway, biodiesel, the used oil is less than 10 cents a gallon and a bit of cooking, filtering and a dash of alcohol and pour it in the tank. The exhaust smells like french fries and catfish.
