No, what you're calling 'blatant bias on the left' was actually impartiality and an emphasis on the truth. That used to be the the standard of journalism.

The history of journalism has never been impartial. The "yellow journalism" of hurst took us into the spanish-amerikan war.
The lying pieces of shit reported the "gulf of tonkin incident" as if it were the superbowl play by play, when now, nearly 60,000 body bags later" we know it never happened.
Nothing in between those two nor anything before or after them has ever been reported without bias.
Look at the shit that sanity post...straight out of the newspaper...look at trhe idiotic shit that bama post...straight ouit of the newspaper.
Are dumb don and the deplorables right when they say that there is fake news? Are dumb don and the deplorables wrong when they say that their "news" is not fake? Anyone with a three digit i.q. and a pulse knows that the answer to both questions is a resounding yes.
Nixon found out how foolish it was to phoque with the man with a pen...dumb don and the deplorables seem to have a very short memory. When you try to french kiss a rattlesnake there are only two possible outcomes. If you are successful all you have done is french kiss a rattlesnake...if you are unsuccessful ...
btw...welcome to the boards.

Blatant bias on the left was common before anyone heard of Atwater. I doubt that you remember when in the 70's someone called Nixon a conservative it was treated as an accusation. The headline reading Nixon accused of being conservative.

No, what you're calling 'blatant bias on the left' was actually impartiality and an emphasis on the truth. That used to be the the standard of journalism. Television and the national news was more liberal, because it was less restricted by local markets and their influence on editors/producers. Most newspapers were very conservative, at least editorially until the late seventies, post-Watergate, but a great number still have a very conservative focus.

Your Nixon story is... an entertaining reframing of events from a man who bugged the opposition's election headquarters... but conservative was never a dirty word-- and it still isn't. I don't blame all conservatives for Trump. I blame the folks who support Trump, for Trump.

I never said Nixon was a good person. That is not relevant to the fact that the press considered conservative being a automatic insult.
Your claim of objectivity is dead wrong. When you were in diapers I was watching the news ever day. The 5 o'clock news rarely reflected what happened when you watched something live.
Haave you ever seen film of the buildings that were burning on Kent State when the guard arrived? Have you ever seen film of the students throwing bricks BEFORE the fist shot was fired? Has it ever occured to you that if you fire a couple hundred rounds of 7.62 round into a crowd you will have 10 times the casualties? Have ever seen the film of the NCOs knocking the muzzles of the rifles into the dirt. Has it ever occurred to you that had they actually been fired into the crowd the majority of the casualties would not have been half a mile away and more from the riot. The kids were sacrificed for the "cause". The guard was sacrificed for the incompetent governor. That is never what the press said about it.

so, with all the hyperbole you can muster welfare patient, I watched the same news you did, and they still killed 5 students that day.

See the nutsuckers. See them kill american citizens.

Why Do People Despise And Distrust The Media?

While I have never been a national news personality, I have been interviewed a few times in my vanilla life on a variety of events or issues. Any relationship to the interview and what ended up in print was accidental. Most of the time, the media reporter selected a slice of the total interview limiting the reporting to that slice ignoring the broader interview. The net result often was not the meat of the interview. This has happened both locally and nationally.
