One really good side effect of the WA election is that any hopes of nationwide alliance or preference swapping deal between One Nation and the Liberals (our conservatives for non-Aussies) were demolished. The deal they arrived at in WA proved toxic for both parties so it won't be repeated anywhere I would imagine.
Hanson's deal seems to have been interpreted by the electorate as "just another underhand tactic" of the kind associated with the major parties. It really tarnished Hanson's 'outsider' image and consequently she lost her appeal with voters disenchanted with the major parties.
The level of infighting between the various One Nation candidates, and the quality of those candidates, many of whom seemed to be on day release from the funny farm was instructive also. The previous incarnation of One Nation fell apart due primarily to infighting among the various ratbags and nutcases that are attracted to populist movements as soon as they gain a bit of ground, and this version, dubbed Hanson Mark 2.0, seems just as prone to infighting as the previous incarnation.
So there's a lot to be optimistic about IMHO.
