If we are talking about totems, definately a wolf, I relate to how they both roam in packs but can also be very solitary, conforming to their environment yet controling the environment in their own territory. My symbol, which I dont seem to have posted anywhere on this site is a series of six scratches, like if you used three fingers on each hand to make a criss cross of scratches, one long and straight the other shorter and like the waves of water.

I sometimes identify with two symbols..first would be the fan..it can represent flirtiness, amusement, demureness, annoyance, anger, dependant upon how it is held or used. The second would be lightening...so powerful, bright, fascinating it can draw you into its beauty...I have a hard time to not go out and stand within its power....be well..Tempting

This is the image that has been in my mind for as long as i can remember. The black rose stands for all of the beautiful things that have happened in my life, and the gold thorn represents how each beautiful thing has caused me pain (and not the good kind, lol). I just recently had it tattoo'd on the back of my shoulder, so this pic isn't that great and still shows it a little raw.

My primary, personal symbol (or totem, actually) is a bird.  Master's symbol... actually, the symbol for our household... is a purple rose with barb wire stem.  Both of these adorn the right side of my body, and I've been working on designing a rose & thorn area rug for our foyer.

an iron cross in rastafarian colors, celebrating lineage and cultural affinity (with a hidden pun to boot)...

One of my symbols for sure is the four leafed clover. Its not about luck or Ireland, rather finding something rare and unique in a mess where everything is monotonous and looks the same.

Well, I was born in "The year of the Tiger" and the shield of the ship I served on the longest had a tiger crawling down an anchor with the words, "The Tiger of the Seas."
So I guess it would be a Tiger.
Hoho, I wear a Claddagh ring with an emerald in it.

I have two symbols, one of which is a tattoo on my right shoulder and that is a bat, not a cartoon vampire bat but a huge mediteranian fruit bat. The represent  my love of night and is a talisman to me. ( I do have a 'thing' for vampires tho *S*)
The other is an oak tree,  which represents immortality and strength. My Mom loved tree's she had pictures an even a fe beuatiful statues of them around her house. They will be here long after we are gone (baring the logging industry) and their life follows the same cycle as ours does to a degree,  birth, life and death. I would love to have the outline of one tattoo'd  or done as a cutting on my leg but finding the right design is always a challenge.
