I have news for you. They aren't allies of the US. They are allies of the fact that we need their oil and we can give them things they want in return.
If we didn't need their oil, they'd as soon cut our throats as look at us.
It is only in your pretend world that we "need" their oil. We get far more oil from Canada and our own production, and much less from Saudi Arabia and others

That is a different subject altogether, has nothing to do with whether or not the Saudi government works with us on defense matters - which they do.
It is notable that they have agreed to aggressively intensify their role in combatting Muslim terrorism as well as their cooperation with us as allies during the president's visit there
While there are and have been issues with some in the Saudi government supporting wahhabism, Al-Qaeda and ISIS hates the Saudi government as much as or more than they hate Jews and Brits and other infidels
