Aid ? HA.

I don't see a downside here.

I bet if Clinton did it you would all cheer. That is now my opinion of liberals/democrats after all your inane posts on Trump. So, the shoe appears to fit and liberals now wear it. Wear it with pride, see you in 2020.

T^T

Well, you'd be wrong, and your opinion widely off the mark.

From your link-
"However, the U.S. economy loses its spot as the number one economy to China when measured in terms of GDP based on PPP. In these terms, China’s GDP is $21.3 trillion and the U.S. GDP is $18.5 trillion. However, the U.S. is way ahead of China in terms of GDP per capita (PPP) – approximately $57,294 in the U.S. versus $15,423 in China."

The US is stagnating, you dont want immigrants, you arent having kids, the US has ceased to be a growing market & incomes havent increased in real terms in decades, debt is rampant, you arent buying stuff anymore & its only the rich that are benefiting.
Countries like China, India, etc are developing and that is where the growth is now and will continue for decades in the future.. Their incomes are increasing, increasingly they are buying stuff & building, they will have the economic clout..
Trump & his protectionist BS is bad for the US but he/that is what America voted for... and y'all will vote him back in again in 4 years, just like you did Bush (which cost the US trillions for the illegal Iraq war & the 2008 recession/bail out)... What is it they say about history repeating? I think that if Trump doesnt start a major war (his tiny fingers are itching to shoot off those nukes), that would be a miracle.. but even if he doesnt, imo debt will increase massively under him and many Americans will suffer badly.. (but the rich will continue to get richer)..

Maybe. China is certainly growing.

But currently, US GDP is 18.5 trillion, with China second at only $11.3 trillion.

And that's less than 5% of the world population earning 24% of global GDP.

As for PPP, nothing stopping us from buying in foreign markets. Parity resolved.

I didnt compile the stats, studies and facts that seem to offend you so much,.. in response all you do is throw personal insults.. I am not stupid enough to respond in kind, you wont get a rise from me at all or bait me into a flame war.. while its quite amusing that it gets so easily under your skin like that (just like yer great leader Trump), your posts are boring and a waste of my time so I am blocking you.. so troll me all you want.. I wonder if Europe will find it has less of a beef with China than it has with the U.S and that makes me wonder again how the trade would go ? China is no great threat to Europe and would be a useful ally against Russia and as a trading partner, there would surely be a lot of billions involved. That would then leave the U.S. being gradually eased out into the cold and Trump would have his wish of separatism again maybe ? Just a thought but worth tossing around surely ?

Why would Europe want any? You can keep them,

VERY true Susie and that goes for Australia too. Europe would surely have some trading muscle, even with a country like China and who knows where that trade may lead ? .......................until of course, China gets a president like Trump I guess. Ah well, I guess we shall see.

Yes, exactly. And with trade along the Pacific rim too.

Is that the only thing that China exports ?

Its a trend, one that will continue and grow.. and it wont happen overnight, of course..

so 5% of the world population earning 24% of the global GDP.. don't you mean the 1%??? Ask the average American if they feel rich.. especially if they are near retirement age with only 5k in the bank and still owing on their mortgage (if they even own a home).. Certainly not everyone is in that position.. but what about their kids & grandkids? all the costs are being pushed down the road onto them.. I know a few young couples that are having kids right now, so I wonder if they even think about that..

as far as buying in foreign markets, sure, isnt that what US multinational corps do? but that doesnt necessarily create wealth or jobs for Americans, depends on the products etc of course but those countries want those jobs in their country.. if the machines dont take them first.. while you can invest in emerging market stocks etc, imo people have a hard time investing in something so far away from them and what they know..

Well, once you turn to subjective interpretation, we're back to data and facts don't matter.

If you want to put it in global terms, if you have a minimum wage job in the US, you are one of the wealthiest people in the world.

Median global income is around $10,000; global income per capita is around $15,000.

71% of the world lives on less than $10/day;
93% earn less than $50/day -- roughly what a full time minimum wage job would pay in the US.

7% are "high income" -- anything over $50/day ($18,000/yr.).

Globally, we are a very wealthy country.

"if you have a minimum wage job in the US, you are one of the wealthiest people in the world."

That may be technically true but income is only part of the equation for me, as far as how wealthy one is.. the other part is cost of living, how much of that income is left over (& what is it spent on?).. considering how many Americans depend on food stamps, section 8, etc or live in substandard conditions or are homeless, or living on credit cards.. add in each person's share of the government debt, as well.. that is also something I look at.. which is why I dont see the US as being as rich a country as stats suggest.. and that is what worries me...

Seriously?

Yes, that I have over 10 times saved than the average American for retirement, more in real estate, is more important than my top 25% income. Granted. I could retire.

But to imply that perhaps these $2/day earners are sitting on wealth that compensates is ridiculous.

Show me the evidence of this wealth. Data, not vague opinions or speculations.

FFS.

Except wealth isn't about how much money you earn, it's about what you can do with the money.
A dollar in Indonesia or rural China can go a LOT further than a dollar in New York city.

You can actually buy a decent, relatively nutritious meal for about $3 in some parts of China.

True if you have enough saved you can retire in a place where you will feel wealthy, but you still have to get there first.

And really, I would say your average Canadian is actually far wealthier than your average American, simply because they don't need to budget for health care.
