It's a damn shame because there is a hell of a lot of money to be made and thousands of well paying jobs in renewable energy and now it looks like it's all going to be made by the Chinese.

Well hopefully they'll use what they make or nothing much else will matter in time... right?

My whole point is that it won't be Americans with those jobs and it won't be Americans making that money.

So now you want America First? I get your point. Chinese air pollution is something we can't control unless we let them have this one.

And President Trump's reasons for pulling out (which makes me wonder if he even read the damn thing.)

First, all countries were to set their own goals, and there was nothing binding, the only thing any of the other countries could do is 'shame' the country that didnt meet the goals...

So, how in the hell does that obligate the United States to do any thing?

The money for the green fund (as Trump called it) were, again, not mandatory, with no way to force a country to pay into the fund...

So, again, how in the fuck is the US obligated to do a fucking thing?

President Trump said in his televised speech announcing his decision that the agreement prevented the US from building more coal power plants, while allowing China to build more...

The agreement does not do that, in fact coal is not mentioned once.

Trump also claimed that China was building 'hundreds of coal power plants" again, a flat out lie, China has in fact stopped or cancelled coal plants and devoted the effort to building wind farms and more hydro electric plants.

So, what the hell was he talking about?

Oh, and for the record, the Environmental Protection Agency was not created by the democrats, but President Richard Nixon, in direct response to conservative and Republican party demands for something to be down to preserve the environment.

It is really annoying as hell when the programmable conservative posters on this board can be persuaded to ignore history, ignore the acts of republicans and then turn around and claim it was liberals and democrats that started programs that were the brainstorms of the GOP.

They go around screaming 'fake news' every time a reporter farts and then promote fake, revisionist history.

We already know the dems will lie through their teeth on a lot of stuff, but when they get caught, they at least have the fucking balls to admit they lied. The GOP cant even do that.

They coin terms like 'fake news' and 'alt left propaganda.'

The only thing worse is a fucking ultra right wing conservative christian making the claim that Jesus Christ was a white man with long straight hair.

DUDE...what the fuck do WE (everyone) know???

(Nothing).

As to Trump.

As to China....what the fuck do you (or I) know? Nothing....we don't know shit for another 30 fucking years (sue me....I don't hold a position...and I sure as fuck don't know shit).

Carter was deemed a pussy...until we found out (years later) that he sent in helicopters.

Everyone thought Reagan was a fucking God (until we discovered he paid Contra's to do his work)...and pissed away everything on the corporate credit card.

No one knows SHIT until we know......something.

Musicmystery -> RE: Okay, a few questions about the Paris Agreement... (6/6/2017 1:56:21 PM)

That's what people said about Nixon -- the president can't know everything, what did he know, when did he know it . . .

Trump is a loose cannon. Always has been.

If you can't build, you smash.

A lack of ink on a piece of paper in Paris has no effect on what American companies can or cannot develop and manufacture

The Chinese will steal any technology we develop anyway, and they would damn sure manufacture it under any Democrat president

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa, the Chinese will steal it, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, the Chinese will steal it.

Classic reply from the alt-stupid.[8|]

[:D] Very rarely can any alt left radical debate reasonably, without resorting to such fallacy crutches such as that juvenile and trollish ad hominem

Damn good thing I'm not a liberal.
Note Who I voted for . Of course, you wouldn't know a real liberal if it bit you on the ass. That is why I refer to you as alt-stupid Comrade. You're not a Conservative. You just worship a life-long Democrat named Trump.

Or if you want to build something different, you might need to break something first.

Beware of picking on China; they own us.
China holds the notes on the majority of our national debt.
China has taken over being the manufacturing center for the world and most of what we have is built with Chinese made parts if not totally made in China or made by a Chinese manufacturing partner.
7 out of 10 Chevrolet cars are made in China. Nissan and Toyota make more cars in the U.S. than GM these days.

Well not quite. The majority of the national debt is held by US citizens and institutions (which is why defaulting, as some fantasize, would not only be a trade disaster, but would also bring domestic economic havoc).

Of foreign investors, China is the next largest US debt holder, followed by Japan, Belgium, the Caribbean banking centers, and oil exporters.

Being isolated isn't going to do anything for our ability to compete either.

You were that kid

The one who always hurt himself showing off, trying to get the popular kids to notice him

Weren't you

I was that kid who went on to be a successful musician, writer, consultant, professor, and entrepreneur running a successful international business.

In the meantime, you were reading extremist blog headlines and posting insults on the Internet.

I prefer my way.

Yep. It's unfortunate.

For what it's worth, you're the exception here to his supporters, the rapid ones who also can't build so they do their best to smash.

I don't know where all this is going to end up. But I upped my 10% global stocks position to 50%, in case the US ends up in the doldrums for a few years.

well, since he is not actually going to get out of it, and since nobody can prove with credible citations any destruction of competitiveness I think we can all agree its felchgobbling putinjizz.
