Fishing is supposed to be relaxing and fun. Why on Earth would you consent to go if you're going to be miserable and ruin the day for someone by complaining? If you're against it don't do it. Were you to come out on my boat I'd make sure it was for a cruise instead of listening to bitching and moaning about catching supper. Suggest a different activity. One you'll both enjoy.

Yea for him is peace and quiet and relaxing, and I was stressing him out.

For me I was stressing out with the peace and quiet and relaxing! Lol! I wanted to catch a fish every single minute.

One of my most enjoyable "fishing session" was simply at a canal in Australia with crystal clear water and you can see truckloads of fishes in it. Hook, line, sinker with prawn meat as bait, and since you can see the fishes, they instant bite! That was the most fun I had fishing ha.

Deep sea fishing or beach fishing are both of the worst as it takes forever to land a damn fish!

But I got to say, fishing is pretty cruel. Especially catch and release and you ain't even eating it.

Poor fish keeps getting hooked over and over again in the mouth.

It's fishing. If it needs to be explained you still wouldn't get it. I could tell you it's communing with nature and the sea or I could tell you it's catching dinner. I could tell you it's the surprise when some hither to fore never seen by you denizen of the deep takes the bait and the fight is on! I don't think any of it would make sense to you though.
