This band, when I was in Australia, I watched them a few times, back then they were not that big yet. I mean they are still not mainstream big but they are bigger now than they were before. And they are imprinted in my memory. Fell inlove with them from their first live show and they put on a great live show.

This is just the example of the excellence of Australian Music. Pure perfection of any genre.

Totally my kind of thing! I call this emo hardcore, but some might call it metalcore which I disagree, it's more 90's hardcore style.

There was another metal band that I wished I remembered the name. It had one of the most amazing female lead guitarist I ever witness in my life. Watching her solo on guitar on proper metal music is like a real life goddess in performance. i am surprised she never became more mainstream as she was sooo good.

So many great Aussie bands I never heard of was witnessing them live for the first time and being blown away.

I heard of the John Butler Trio last week in one of those strange strange chains of interest.
A silly cartoon I get in an RSS feed mentioned an Aussie cartoonist he had met at at Comicon. I followed the link to check out the cartoonist.
One cartoon had the protagonist juggling four kids while changing their nappies and the wife comes in; "John Butler Trio may be too funky for changing time."

So, I had to go check them out.

When it comes to metal; I'm more of a Nighwish or Yngvie Malmsteen person.

Even more than Men At Work?

What timing for me to have an actual Aussie GF right as they came on the scene. I'd enjoyed several episodes of Vegemite toast in the morning before they sang songs about it, so I was all smart and international an' stuff and knew what they were talking about.

I preferred Who Can It Be Now? to that one, if I'm honest.
Was any of Colin Hay's solo stuff any good?
