On another thread, a poster mentioned Nelsan Ellis. How much they enjoyed him in one of his roles on "True Blood".

What they didn't mention is that he died, Saturday.

If you didn't know him from his role as Lafayette, you might have seen him in his other work. He played Martin Luther King, Jr in "The Butler," and had a supporting role in "Get On Up". I consider the latter to be one of the best roles he ever brought to film.

I adored Lafayette, and Nelsan:) I was very sad to learn he had passed so suddenly:(

I had never actually seen True Blood until a couple of months ago I got bored and started watching it on Amazon Video, and ended up binge watching every season. Lafayette was my favorite character immediately. I thought Ellis was an incredibly talented actor, but didn't even know he called my area home at one time until I read his obituary. I really hate that there will be no more roles that I will be watching him in. And an unexpected tragedy for his family.

i did not watch my first episode until season 3...and then I stopped and binged watched the lot - its pretty good.
