Does A/anyone think We should have a teaching chatroom regularly open in mornings and evenings with wonderful Mentors and Teachers who are Real time?

Doesn't CollarMe allow anyone to create a new room in chat at any time? I think this is a good idea. Maybe, as they do on the Yahoo Groups, you could schedule a 'chat-time' in the Announcements area. Then at the designated time open up a new room in the chat area for this purpose.

aww my favorite couple.. Merc N Beth... Yes they do but I wanted to see if it would of been a waste of time opening one.I would hope you would have a few moments in the evening to add your 4 cents worth ,together, You both are always welcome anytime.I have a friend who opened a teaching site in aol ,not too much happening from it,and i have one in yhaoo trying also but seems to do better trying in alt.com(i know ) even i get goosebumps from alt.com..So there's always a interest but the doing it seems to be lacking from those who wish to learn.. smiles. Thank you I may try and let you both know,when smiles..I am also meanwhile looking for a Domme,slave,switch people who have had the experience in Real time to teach about it from their versions..I think it will be a great experience just hope it works out.. hugs and stay war serenity

Ive been teaching My basics both in real life with in My Munchies and Dungeon and online for longer then I want to admit to. My chat rooms are open 24/7 on MSN and have been there since MSN chats opened alltho since the HURRICANES, Im not online to speak in the rooms much because I am still busy in short and long term recovery in My community. I have mentioned
else where that if anyone desires a chat room to be open for the regulars ( I beleived it was mentioned for the room to be called the Board Room ) I would be happy to open it even if I am not present in it and hold it open for any regulars whom desire to enter it and join the chat. I am not a lover of java and did have in the collarme's inseption of the chat rooms two rooms open 24/7 but after a couple of months closed them down because they took up to much hard drive and crashed Me many times when I was away from the com0uter interupting not only the chats on collarMe but My others on MSN. email Me whom desire such and if at least 5 commit Ill again open up something 24/7 if it is desired by the board members. JMO

can still get in msn chats but theyy fixed it where you have to pay but we know how to use them anyway.. Cool thank you all alot I will look forward to this it will be wonderful to help again and to those who will appreciate it .. hugs my favorite Couple and Mistress Dread Ma'am ..and jill we are speaking baout here opening up a room smiles.. but msn ha\s a secret back door to use their chats only a fw know the key words lol... The problem with having a chat room like that is the same as anywhere. You find real people everywhere you go. Who would police the fact they are actually real people?
Because someone may or may not have met them someplace before? Does that make a person real? Knowledeable in a particular type of play?
Let's say there was such a chat room. Names you know and sudo trust because you've seen them on the boards. Who is going to police the room from the online only types? Would they not end up taking over?

Just a few issues I see on the top of my head.

Why would anyone desire to * POLICE * a chat room? Yes keeping an eye out for kids entering a adult room is the norm and for that matter the ones with a lick of common sence know how to pretend adults any how in order to learn what it is they want to learn with out permission, And if a person carrys on a conversation thats independant free verse of any question posted is more then likely a real person. I dont need no fucken police to watch over Me nor tell Me as an adult what I choose to do or not nor to speak on what I so choose or not and better yet if I so choose to tell storys tell truths talk shit or be as sweet as a humming bird I WILL DO SO as an adult. Its up to others to deciede if they want this as well too or not and click the switch so to speak. JMO

One place I know won't let you enter their chat room unless you've been "verified" with a
PHONE CALL, of all things. That proves you're real alright but doesn't make you bdsm real!

Exactly the point I was making Elaine. A chat room is a chat room. Period. You have no way of knowing who or what are in them. No way of knowing if they just "found" the room today or have been in the scene for 30 years.
How would a collar me chat room differ? Would only board members be allowed? What about those board members who claim to be real time who certainly are not? I definately do not consider myself an expert at anything. I'm just me.

I've only been in the collarme chat rooms a couple of times for very brief periods. They aren't my cup of tea. Just like any other chat anywhere. I guess if I hung out in them, I'd get to know the regulars. Still, why waste all of that time?

Here's an interesting thought... someone spends 4 hours a day, 5 days a week in a chat room. They sleep 8 hours, work 8 hours, and do daily maintaince (showers, eating, bathroom, etc)... when do they have the time to be *real*?

Personally, I rarely frequent chatrooms. To many snerts hanging around that IM people in the room without being in the room. To many that say how they are *real* then say how they do something that would basically kill another on a regular basis. If you have time to go to a chatroom to *learn* that often, you have time to find and attend a local munch. Too scared? So go to the first one (after all.. MOST are in very public places), and watch from a distance without participating. Hiding behind a computer screen to *learn* is still hiding. You want to learn about RL BDSM, go out and do it. Any one who calls themselves dominant that fears a munch doesn't have enough self confidence to control IMO. And a submissive that fears checking things out doesn't have enough sense of worth to be able to really have much to offer.

Yeah I know, I'm harsh. That's just part of my charm :)

I occationally play around in yahoo chat rooms, and this is something I've noticed. There are a couple people who are in the rooms -every- time I come in (which is at different times on different days) yet they bill themselves to be "real"

I don't doubt they are, but I feel kinda sad for their poor neglected slaves and owners.
