Are the Democrats working to keep the gay community safe from Muslims?

No. Only that man, Donald Trump is.

Typical Liberal Logic.

So just because trans chose a career that could mean their death is an argument?

This is the difference. This is an emotional argument.

But I do want to know the pragmatic details of how are the trans community in the miltiary disrupting. I want to see their schedules compared to a normal straight soldier. What have they been up to in terms of disruption. And how their medical which the military takes care of, compares to a straight soldier.

To me, Trump must have seen some figures before making this decision. This wasn't an emotional decision for Trump but a pragmatic one.

So are you telling us all now the US Military is comprised off 1.4 million insane Muslims and a handful of transgenders and that Trump chooses to protect the transgenders by banning them from the military and allowing 1.4 million Muslims to serve? And he plans to keep them safe by back tracking on everything he campaigned on and promised on account of him being a lying cunt nutter and total imbecile, and yet it somehow the pesky em Dems fault?

How many times did Comrade Draft Dodger dodge the war anyway?

Implementing the best policy for the military "discriminates" against all kinds of people, but that doesn't make anyone associated with such policy "haters" or whatever. Some are too old, some are too fat. Some, like you, are far too stupid. There are many legitimate reasons to "discriminate" against those who apply for jobs in the military

Despite your insanity, the president never promised that the military would have no standards

http://www.businessinsider.com/kristin-beck-trump-transgender-ban-2017-7

A retired Navy SEAL Team 6 hero who is transgender had a message for President Donald Trump after he announced the US military would bar transgender people from serving.

"Let's meet face to face and you tell me I'm not worthy," Kristin Beck, a 20-year veteran of the Navy SEALs, told Business Insider on Wednesday. "Transgender doesn't matter. Do your service."

Beck said Trump's abrupt change in policy could negatively affect many currently or wanting to serve in the military. The RAND Corporation estimated in 2016 that there were between 1,320 and 6,630 transgender people serving. Many of them just want to serve their country like everyone else, Beck said.

"Being transgender doesn't affect anyone else," Beck said. "We are liberty's light. If you can't defend that for everyone that's an American citizen, that's not right."

Beck is not just your average service member. Born Christopher Beck, she served for 20 years in the Navy with SEAL Teams 1, 5, and, eventually, the elite 6. She deployed 13 times over two decades, including stints in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. She received the Bronze Star award for valor and the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in combat.

"I was defending individual liberty," she said. "I defended for Republicans. I defended for Democrats. I defended for everyone."

In a series of tweets, Trump said the decision was based on the costs of medical services that transgender service members could use. But "the money is negligible," Beck said. "You're talking about .000001% of the military budget.

"They care more about the airplane or the tank than they care about people," Beck said. "They don't care about people. They don't care about human beings."

When asked about potential problems with unit cohesion or war fighting, Beck said those were not issues that would arise from transgender service members, but from leadership.

"A very professional unit with great leadership wouldn't have a problem," Beck said. "I can have a Muslim serving right beside Jerry Falwell, and we're not going to have a problem. It's a leadership issue, not a transgender issue."

Nope he didn't see any figures he didn't hear anything related to transgenders in the military.

It's pure politics.

He wants money for his border wall. There's a bill in Congress that includes that funding but there's a chance it won't get past because there's Republicans fighting over a different section of the bill that addresses transgenders in the military. So Trump decides he will just stop the whole transgender issue, they will stop arguing, the bill will get passed And he will get money for the wall

So his ban has nothing to do with any actual problems that anyone's having with transgenders in the military. it has to do with him wanting money for his border wall.

MakeM3Urs -> RE: Trump's transgender military ban 'not worked out yet' (7/27/2017 7:11:25 AM)

Is anyone else here old enough to recall when Regan fired the Air Traffic Controllers in the early 80? Most don't realize why he did. He had 14,000 controllers who had gone on an illegal strike. (Because they were Federal employees.) He also had 3.1 million Postal workers planning to strike if Regan acceded to the controllers' demands just to get the air traffic system back up and running. The 14,000 controllers didn't amount to squat compared to what a Postal strike would have cost. Regan made an example of the controllers to ensure that the Postal workers stayed on the job. (Keep in mind that the Post Office was a lot more important in pre-Internet days.)
This is a similar situation. There aren't a great deal of trans persons in the military today, and the services could surely afford to cover their medical expenses in return for their service. However, there are a great deal more, like an order of magnitude more, pre-op transsexuals who cannot afford SRS on their own, and would love to have Uncle Sam (read, the taxpayers) pay for all of their transition expenses for them in exchange for four years if service. If that were allowed it would indeed place a huge cost burden on the military medical system. In this case I have to agree with the President. There is no Constitutional right to serve in the military, and this violates no actual rights.
Before the others here assume that I am anti-trans, let me say that my own sister has been post-op M2F for 3 decades now and we are still close. Like most trans persons she would have needed decades to save for SRS, except that my father funded her surgery and other expenses during transition. More than 30 years ago her expenses totaled over six figures. Start multiplying that times the number of current pre-op trans persons who would be willing to serve in order to have their expenses covered and you can see how that could quickly become some serious money.
As a BTW, my sister had been in the military on active duty for 17 years when she informed her commanding officer of her plans to transition. She was subsequently discharged and was told it was because the estrogens she would be taking would affect her very high security clearance. That may seem silly or arbitrary, but then there is Chelsea Manning...

The same study estimated that medical care for individuals who transition would cost roughly $2.4-$4m annually. Every year, the Pentagon spends approximately $6bn on medical care for active members of the armed forces.

The measly amount saved by the military declining to provide appropriate healthcare to its TG members ( a minuscule fraction of 1% of the healthcare budget) tells us that this move by Trump is not about money.

Trump is being true to form. He's a bully who, unable to get his way on healthcare due to his and GOP incompetence, is trying to deflect attention by picking on a tiny powerless minority. This is the kind of behaviour that gives lowlife sleazebags their unenviable reputation.

Yes, yes, the medical costs.

There are other costs to the military from Transgenders.

But let's be realistic. . . there are a whole bunch of physical and psychological conditions that one can have that the military will tell you, "No, you can't join with those."

There are several conditions that you can get while serving, that the military will separate you medically for.

I don't see you getting your panties in a bunch over people with autism or diabetes not being allowed to join. It is the whole "pre-existing conditions" thing. Oh, and hiding such a thing is fraud. So the problem is not that some people don't get to join the military.

The military's job is to kill people and break stuff. Can you please explain to me how having people with gender diaspora enlist is going to further that mission? How are men (XY) taking drugs that make them physically weaker going to help military readiness? And speaking of pills, it is just a bad idea to have anyone in that must take medication daily or be monitored for a condition.

So, yes, I would love to hear how having transgenders serving openly is going to increase the effectiveness of the military.

What Trump Comrade Bone Spurs did to McCain was an abomination Trump: McCain is not war hero, he was captured

Could she have done all of this while taking hormones that would make her physically weaker? Also, how would needing to take medication daily have affected her service? Deployed 13 times? Seal teams? Pharmacies were not just around the corner.

Of course if the job description is "to kill people and break stuff" I can see why it appeals to so many people with psychopathic tendencies such as your good self. But I wonder if any one else would be attracted by such a blood'n'guts job description ....
