...the other day...I was feeling a bit dizzy...getting out of bed....it happens at 50 ("sumpin"...it even happens at 40 "sumpin")...you get out of bed...legs feel a bit wobbly.....ehhh...you get up and move on with your day...all good...shit happens....another day...getting older.... This time it seemed a bit odd...not entirely normal in that...between bed and (5 / 10 / 15......more seconds)...it continued....didn't stop....didn't get better....and then, in the shower....brushing my teeth....yet....by the time I got my shoes on and started the car....things seemed to be about right...and off I went to the office... As I (then...at the office) sat at my computer...simple things...math (calculating contract amounts/phone numbers/call backs) seemed like they were taking a bit longer than "should be"...I was actually cognizant of the fact that...things seemed to be taking a "bit" longer than should be the case....but....I was clear...."sumpin ain't right".... So....I got the guys off....trucks on the road...paperwork done...emails...and...I went out in the parking lot for a walk...girls still 2 hours from coming in....seemed a bit incongruous....beautiful morning...I'm chilling.... And I thought...."Ya know Jon....this ain't like any other morning.....you should probably go see the doctor"....so...as soon as my (main) girl came in I had her set me up (call my Doc)....gave her the particulars...she comes in about 20 minutes later (having called my Doc) and says "Jon....the doctor will be..."...then the phone rang...she says "that's the doctor"... It wasn't...it was his nurse (I guess I'm not *that* important)......she runs through a litany of questions...I say "yes" a lot...and she says...."can you drive?"...I say "of course I can drive"...she says "please get in your car now* and head to...." The ER. So...I wrapped up a few things...got in my car and headed to the ER....when I got there...you'd think GWB had landed in the parking lot and there must have been 4 women (all...EXCEPTIONALLY attractive, I must add)..."Mr J* (doc had called ahead)...please step this way...over here...(people taking my shirt off...asking me if I knew my birthday...)...." Never experienced anything like that before....(I bet the bill is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay the fuck more than a new Chevy SUV)...I'm thinking..."chill the fuck out people!!!" "Jeeeesus gawdamn....I did drive myself in here ya know!!!!" I guess it was serious shit but....anyway...here's my point: It gave me a wake up call....turns out they didn't find any evidence of what (my Mom was certain of.....Mom's....ya know...)....so...my office was freaking (because I left during work hours....told my secretary).....so (next morning) I had a meeting with my entire staff...having had the evening (and previous day) to consider things...they were concerned....... And I told them this: "Yesterday, I was informed that I have a ticket....waiting....for the last train out. It could come tomorrow....it could come in 20 years. I now know that my ticket has been punched...and it's hopefully for a destination I've chosen....in any case...it is indeed for a destination that ain't....here. " And then I said.... "I know most of you are probably thinking...it's time to chill...sell a few things....take a few weekends off....but............that ain't me. Ya'll know I've been looking at a few company's to purchase...and I've passed on a few of them....however...............in the next 3 months I'll be selling a few of our assets....not to take a back seat....but...to run a little faster. We're not slowing down...I now know where the end is....and I know where we are today. There's a few gaps in between. We're going to fill those gaps.....starting today". What a TOTALLY rocking time to be alive!!! Knowing....there's no way to lose :)

I'm so happy you didn't have a stroke, which was what I first assumed from your symptoms. I hope the doctor will continue to test for a cause.

I asked the doc "so....actually, this could even have been bad indigestion...."....she said "Yes, but you absolutely had 5 of the 10 indicators so....you need to be on blood thinners and such".....I said "No prob....I've been on those for years"....she said "Oh? I don't see that in your list of prescriptions"....I said "No....that one's self prescribed :)" (I think this means I can now write off Crown Royal). Finally....a doctor with enough schooling, knowledgeable enough to recognize....I'm not getting enough alcohol in my diet.

Sorry mate - you might bleed more with Crown, but that is typically because people drinking Crown tend to fall down!!! Ha! Rhyme! It doesn't really thin your blood. Now, if you put an aspirin in it........................................................................................[:D]

Warfarin, also known as rat poison. And weekly blood tests because you need to adjust the dosage constantly.

I'm all good (Thank you :) ) :) Funny thing is....when I was in the sit down at ER and everyone is swarming all over me...I remember thinking "Fuuuuck me....this is some serious shit!!!!" and then being amazingly calm about the whole thing. The nurse had to check my blood pressure twice because she said "you should be a whole lot more upset than you are!" (I guess I figured....If I'm gonna die....ain't much I can do about it).
