Except if you don't have an immune system running at a deficiency or crippled state.

You will likely live a much longer life than having to stuff yourself with tons of drugs daily just to stay alive.

Every drug has side effects too, which causes new health problems. It's a never ending cycle of issues ONCE you have a condition that requires constant drugs.

It's a life sentence to drug taking.

Danemora -> RE: California reduce penalties for knowingly exposing partners to HIV (10/13/2017 6:10:03 PM)

And with proper medication, folks with HIV can live a long life too. So quit with your bullshit about it being a death sentence. You arent so good with understanding medical things anyway. Stick to what you know. Like being an ISIS mouthpiece

It is a death sentence as far as I am concern for folks like me who wants to stay drug free and not be slave to a drug, or held hostage to a drug that is mandatory for me to be able to live.

How is that not a death sentence.

It has now become, "take these drugs or die"

If this condition was caused by me having an unhealthy lifestyle through cancer/stroke/heart attack. I blame myself.

But if somebody withhold that he got HIV and poke a hole in his condoms intentionally to spread to me.

It is a death sentence.

Then stay in Singapore and never ever come to California. The other 49 states will get on board as soon as the word spreads about what you really are anyway. We here in the US dont want ISIS puppets

You have no worries about that. I would never want to live in the US.

It's one of the worst countries in the world to live in in my opinion. Too much infighting at political level so progress will be very slow in terms of improving anything that is currently broken in the country. And people value individual freedom over the greater good of keeping majority safe which is the opposite value of where I come from.

And this HIV law is I think an example of "valuing individual freedom to spread HIV" than to keep majority safe by taking the crime seriously.

It's true. Reality that is happening daily. You wanna stay in denial, that's your prerogative.

Danemora -> RE: California reduce penalties for knowingly exposing partners to HIV (10/13/2017 6:23:04 PM)

Keep trying, Raqqa Rose. Reality isnt the head-up-Raqqa-Rose's-ass "reality" that you find yourself in. Its okay, I never expected much from you as it was anyway. Clearly ignorance is bliss in your world

Yea, the fact that you are denying there is any infighting going on in your political system, really shows who is really ignorant.

Yes, the US politicians are all holding hands and in harmony at the moment. Okay, your reality.

Aging is a death sentence, too, Greta. How about we outlaw aging?

Aging is a natural process of life. HIV isn't.

With proper medication, HIV can stay HIV a long long long time. Stop spreading lies and bullshit

That's the fucking problem. You need medication to live. Which part of, "take drugs or die" do you not understand? How is that not a death sentence?

See, I actually agree with much of what you said. HIV/AIDS is stigmatized, though in America it's nowhere near a death sentence anymore.

This is a death sentence of a life time of medical care and excessive heavy cost of maintaining a life time of medication. How is anything with NO CURE not a death sentence?

This isn't something that can be cured yet.

It's not an excuse to say that, it's okay to spread HIV to others , just because this universe now got medicine to extend the lifespan of a HIV patient. There is still no cure. Your life may be lengthen than without medicine but it is still significantly shortened. You no longer can lead a normal life. You gotta pop all these pills every single day as you have a reduced immune system. Your quality of life drops drastically. Popping gazillion pills to stay alive is a form of a death sentence. It's like somebody poisoned you, so that you will for the rest of your life be reliant on drugs.

The reduction in sentence is trivializing the act of people who KNOWS they have HIV and intentionally spread it around to others.

Don't lie about what I say. I have never condoned the transmission of any disease, in any way.

In your country, it's a death sentence. That's how your government wants it. Says a lot, doesn't it? In the US, there are treatment options available and there are medications available to help keep you from catching it in the first place.

But keep twisting people's words, taking things totally out of context, and arguing about how things should happen in a country you neither understand or give a fuck about.

In the same way diabetes is not a death sentence. Or having your thryroid removed is not a death sentence. Or having high blood pressure or fast heart beat is not a death sentence. Or having high cholesterol is not a death sentence. Or any other number of ailments that require ongoing treatment is not a death sentence.

Jesus you could have fooled me. Most of your posts you already act like you are a citizen telling us how you think things should be. You even use the term "we" sometimes when talking about the U. S.

Greta sometimes gets confused regarding the details of her persona.

JVoV -> RE: California reduce penalties for knowingly exposing partners to HIV (10/13/2017 10:34:37 PM)

With proper treatment, meaning the patient is fully cooperative and takes the prescribed medications, HIV can be made completely undetectable in the bloodstream. No, that's not a total cure yet, but it's a serious medical advancement to what was possible even a decade ago.

I love how everyone thinks that the world is rainbows and puppies, and that everyone tells the truth about everything all the time. And I really hope that works out for you. But that hasn't been my life.

And you know, if it ever were to happen, it would never be the guy that lies and infects me that has to face my mother, to tell her that I'm poz. Never him that watches her heart break, and the panic attack consume her. So I'll continue being vigilant about my own health, no different than I am about the risk for diabetes (which is likely much higher).

So, why should YOU have to face your mother because some @sshole had such a disregard, nay, INTENT to inflict you?

Puppies and rainbows? Seriously?

She (Greta) isn't entirely wrong, here. Rather than blowing smoke up people's bums about how people who don' know their status or trying to push this facade about temporary insanity after getting their test results, *look at the actual issue*.

There really are people HATEFUL enough to intentionally infect other people. That's why the laws have been on the books for the last ~25/30 years. Don't you remember how people used to SPIT at other people in the hopes that they would get it?
