When two people marry and decide to have babies, they should both take blood tests. Otherwise they are idiots.

You are absolutely an idiot! Do you know how many faithful wives get STDs because THEIR husband cheated and did not disclose cheating to them?

Then the wife is an idiot for marrying someone like that.
Before two people get married they need to know each other.
If a woman (or man) has active listening skills she can learn a lot about her potential partner.
She has to be crystal clear on what monogamy means to her and see if they are on the same page.

If a woman has active listening skills she will be able to see the red flags as they appear.
You're making it out as if two people, who have good communication, are faithful, and for no reason the guy cheats on her and then gives her a STD.

BTW, I agree with you that it's insane if a person donates blood, fully knowing he/she has AIDS, should be punished severely.

You don't know what you are talking about. So far President Trump is faaar better than Obama.

If you're a straight white man, maybe. For anyone else, not so much.

quote:

This legislation isn't about people who don't want to take responsibilities for their actions who have AIDS, but rather, it's about people who don't want to take responsibilities for their actions who have sex without protection.

Wrong. The goal of the legislation was to help reduce the stigma of and the discrimination associated with having HIV/AIDS, not to shift blame for contracting it.

As for protection, the only protection is abstinence. "Protecton" doesn't always protect.

quote:

If a guy goes to a gay bar, pulls his pants down and bends over and spreads his cheeks and says, "Anyone do me." So 10 guys fuck him in the ass and he now has AIDS. It's the guy who has sex without protection who is at fault.

That person certainly shares culpability, but if one (or more) of those 10 knows he has a communicable disease and doesn't disclose it, he's a piece of shit and so is anyone who defends his subterfuge.

Even if this law no longer makes it a felony and restricts the maximum sentence to six months, the guilty parties are still going to get fucked in civil court. It costs thousands of dollars a month for the anti-viral medication necessary when you're HIV positive and a criminal conviction is going to almost guarantee a civil jugdement as well.

quote:

No, I don't have AIDS. Are you a scumbag? Do you have AIDS?

No, I'm not a victim-blaming scumbag. As for AIDS, nope, and I plan to keep it that way, despite people like you being out there.

I disagree with what you said all the way around. People in relationships *can* change or grow in different directions after marriage happens. If what you said was even remotely true, the divorce rate would not be as high as it is. But if you'd like to believe that everything is set in stone behaviorwise before two people marry, Ive got beachfront property in Arizona Ill sell to you dirt cheap. Act in the next 20 minutes and Ill throw in a NYC bridge or two as a super special bonus. I see you as a Verizano man...possibly a Brooklyn dude. Trust me, you dont want the GW

I never said things are "set in stone" in a marriage. That's why the divorce rate is so high.

I know what you said. I quoted you in my response to you. The woman should have paid attention...red flags...blah blah blah. I just honestly feel you are incredibly naive based only on what you yourself wrote

It's the people of California who are approving this bill.
It's for the best.
It's not like I'm the only one approving of it.

It's only for the best of people who are irresponsible idiots and should not be let near anything with a working brain cell...

The fact that you approve tells me all I need to know about you

It's for the best.

It's for the best, huh?

You're a switch, right? Is it 'for the best' for you when you engage in kink with someone and they don't get your informed consent for play? They've got a little 'surprise' for you that you had no idea about and it has life long consequences? Would you say it was a good thing if a top withheld information from you, such as the wax they were going to pour on you was the type that has a melting point of 180 degrees to give you scars or the inexperienced rope top was going to tie you in such a way that you acquire nerve damage? How about we negotiate a knife scene and I just don't tell you that it's really going to be a cutting scene?

Well, didn't you know the risks? You were supposed to know that people can get harmed in BDSM. It's not MY fault that I didn't tell you.

Yeah. Keep telling people that not informing partners of important, life changing information is good for the BDSM community.

Laws vary by jurisdiction. But there is a common philosophy regarding some things that seems to cross jurisdictions.

Intentionally spreading an infection that causes harm is a version of assault and is a crime.
Intentionally spreading an infection that causes death or permanent disability is felonious assault and prosecuted appropriately.

Since HIV is no longer considered a death sentence; it might be appropriate to downgrade spreading it to be a misdemeanor.

Personally, I think spreading a disease that is permanent, no cure, should be a felony. Just as maiming another, even by accident, can be a felony; so should spreading a debilitating permanent infection.

I feel like WMDom26CA has essentially told us he is happy about this law because he has HIV/AIDS.

WMDom, how did you come by this disease? You must have contracted it from someone else, right? Did they tell you they had it, or was it a surprise to you?

Think back to when you first found out you had HIV/AIDS... how did you feel? Was it "no big deal" then? Has it been "no big deal" for your life since then, with so many partners rejecting you because of your disease that you've had to use absurd logic, which you KNOW is twisted and evil, to rationalize failing to warn partners, just to continue maintaining an active sex life?
