I admit it, I liked Roger Corman's movies from the 60's and 70's, you know the sci fi grade c movies with cheesy special effects, gratuitous violence, nudity and very little of anything else. Well, I just watched his reboot of his classic Death Race 2000, Death Race 2050. And in the era of high tech special effects blood and gore, he went old school, really old school to the point the movie, as violent as it was, became more of a comic parody of every blood and gore movie that has come out recently. Still, it was a nice diversion from the high tech special effects and, to be honest, reminded me once more that Hollywood can produce decent movies without spending 10's of millions of dollars. Now, if he would re boot some of the others he made with David Carradine, like Death Sport, it would be a nice change from some of the stuff coming out of Hollywood today.
