Nah. Credit where credit is due: Lefties don't come and knock on my door, while I'm eating dinner to tell me about God.

Lefties just try to tell me what I "should" believe.

Lap it all up peeps, soon the only people who are take notice of you, is you.

Except us, of course...right? Trump makes a decision, other countries dont like it, they try to force us...with the backing of the U. N....to do what they TELL us.

Trump has been extremely critical of the UN, and I think most Americans are as well.

As for our international aid efforts, we need to take care of Americans first. Puerto Rico is still a disaster. The US Virgin Islands still has 50% without power.

I for one would rather see our Army Corp of Engineers working in these territories a while, instead of Africa, The Middle East, or where ever.

I'm really unhappy with the way the situation in Nigeria has been handled. We lost troops. Somebody needs to suffer.

Really? And there was me thinking that you'd been predicting the collapse of western civilisation if everybody doesn't agree with you that all of the moslems need to be wiped out ASAP since you switched to this username.

I have written that we shouldn't import Muslims. I have written that Muslims need to be educated regarding the idiocy of their death cult, and be brought into this current century kicking and screaming if need be

One of us doesn't, that's for sure.
(Don't worry, though: there's a few of the other mad howlers with an allergy to reality on here who've got your back.)

Bosco, your grasp on just how dependent the US is on foreign imports, especially in rare earth minerals is less than zero.

But hey, your grasp of reality has never been very strong.

Well, the UN voted 120 to nine to condemn the US on its Jerusalem decision.

But hey, the nine countries that voted on our side were some really big power houses, Togo, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Micronesia, Palau, Honduras and Guatemala....

Thirty five abstained.

Yup, Mr. President, your bully tactics really put the fear of god in those countries....

Goodwill? Goodwill is not good when conditions are put on it.

In that context, it is bribery and worse.

But hey, maybe that money we save in helping other countries could be used in Puerto Rico or even the US education system....

Mr. President, I really hate to break the bad news, but no on is afraid of you and your bullshit.

No one has been afraid of a president since Reagan, and that was only after he invaded a piss ant little Island in the Caribbean where the Cubans were building an air port that could be used for Soviet bombers.

Careful. You'll be painted as a racist xenophobe with that 2nd comment. Then, they'll sink even lower and call you a Republican.

Of the listed "missions" of the ACE, those are the only two that could be seen as operating outside the US.

We already get little to no credit for aid we give/provide other countries. If we pull the USACE out, too, then how will the US look to other countries?

President Trump still doesn't understand politics and how to get shit done politically. He's still "presidenting" as a businessman, and financial leverage is a very great source of leverage in the business world. If he doesn't show signs of understanding how politiics work by Summer, I'm not sure he'll ever understand (whether that's because he's not smart enough to get it, he's not open enough to get it, or some combination), and he'll continue to bungle his Presidency. There is still time for him to understand politics and how to get stuff done politically; plenty of time. Trying to bully his way with threats of suspending aid won't work. He's going to have to figure that shit out.

I may disagree with Trump's politics (especially since I am one of those hated lefties) but, as you have implied, I suspect the greater damage he is doing to his party, the US political system and the international standing of the US is less his politics than the way he is going about being a politician.

Somehow, at some point, he has to figure out how to do business with people and other nations in the political sphere which, as you suggest, is very different to how he has historically conducted his business as a businessman.

I would prefer he would keep the damage he does to his domestic activities instead of inciting conflicts abroad. His last activity of promising weapons supplies to the Ukrainian government only hours after a christmas ceasefire has been proclaimed has blown all negotiations to bits. Is this policy or idiocy?

He's probably just feeling spiteful because Putin never came through with the twelve year old girl he was promised for Christmas.

Damage to his party?

McConnell on Trump: 'I'm warming up to the tweets'

Nothing brings about party unity more than winning does, and this latest smashing tax victory has everyone rallying around the president. And now with the economy finally roaring back to life Democrat dreams of slowing the Trump train are but a continuing nightmare
