Why would you be asking her to clarify that she's 18 as your opening post. As soon as she said no, and that she was 14, game over. Report to the site. No joy on the other side you could come here and flag up the you need a MOD ASAP to do with a minor on the other side. Job done. You still don't out a minor so any scum bag on here can hassle her.

I did report the profile to support, but apparently they don't give a flying fuck, the main reason why I posted her name was to get others to report her. But it is also apparent that there is a whole shitload of people on here supporting the fact that there are fucking minors on the site. Y'all make me sick as fuck.

Why shouldn't I ask someone to verify their age? I ask people to verify their ages so I know who to avoid on websites if they are underage, what you do and how you run things in your life and who you talk to is of no concern to me, because in the end of the day the only person who's back I got is me. Y'all want to talk to minors on here? Y'all go right ahead, I'll just be sitting back watching the shitshow go down. But remember, I warned everyone of minors on here. Nobody wants to listen? So, the idea of reporting this profile to Support and then just, oh, I don't know, maybe... Not interacting with the person again, never entered your mind? If you really believed the person you were interacting with was 14 just because they typed it in a chat to you, I would think you should just block the person and not want anything to do with them.

The little chat conversation that you posted doesn't mean much. Either the person lied when they signed up to the site or they lied when they told you they were 14. For all we know, it was a college kid who was seeing how far they could lead you by the nose to laugh at you. Stuff like that tends to happen on the site every Christmas and Spring break and we used to have threads about it every time we knew the college-aged people were getting their kicks from the activity that would suddenly crop up.

The deal is, there are certain people who know that there will be a lot more activity on the site (particularly in chat) because a lot of people want to do the cyber thing over the holidays. These are usually very gullible, lonely people who have extra computer time around this time of year who have more time off of work, or their spouse has more things to do so they have more computer 'play' time, or they really don't have a lot of family plans.

The majority of us don't need to be warned. We know enough to have our real life interactions with adults and not play pretend on the net. (And, yep, I'm one of the people who have carded people at lifestyle events before just to be sure of legal age.)

You don't need Support to block any person that you doubt is legal. I don't know what was going on before that first line where your first word was "no," but I highly doubt that was really the first word of the entire conversation.

If he just cut and pasted the conversation as it appears in his inbox, then it would be read in order from the bottom up, not top down. So no, the conversation didn't start with "no", it started with him asking to verify age.

Coming on here and bringing attention to her profile was a dumbass move, but there really isn't any reason to doubt that the conversation didn't happen as he has posted.

I don't doubt that the conversation happened...however, I do doubt that this is the whole conversation and I'm sure he omitted a few things to make his story more viable.

To the OP's credit, he didn't try to pick up the girl after she said she was 14. His response was more surprise than anything else. Then again, the other side of that conversation sounds little like any fourteen year old I've ever met, and smart money says it's a scam setup. Anyone who nibbled would be contacted by the "father" who threatens to call the cops on the pervert who's chatting up his underaged daughter unless he's paid off. It's a common scam.

The dogpile seems unnecessary for someone who seems to be reacting more from a place of shock than anything else. Then again, there have been countless people who have posted their own threads to warn others about the fakes and/or scammers one finds on the internet. OP's warning that some people on the internet aren't who they say they are won't stop anybody else, any more than any of the prior warnings made him realize that another thread was unnecessary.

'Reacting from a place of shock' at thinking you've found a 14 year old on a bdsm site is to report to the site and get them removed. It is not to out them in the forums and 'warn' other people about this person, thus directing traffic to their profile. That is stupidity in the highest form, or malicious.

Not really wanting to double-guess the motivation that led to the OP's conversation, although asking someone to verify age as an opener is a bit idiosyncratic, unless you have been caught out before. The OP may not have been looking for an 18 year old but was asking someone to verify that the other person was at least 18 (bearing in mind there was reference earlier in the thread to the "woman's" profile saying she was 30).

So without constructing any thoughts about who or what the OP was looking for, the problem is the outing of the minor (if "she" was indeed a minor) which could only put her at greater risk and the complete lack of care for her protection inherent in publishing the whole thing (once, going by the OP's narrative, the incident had been reported).

Quite apart from misreading what has been said by other posters as "supporting the fact that there are fucking minors on the site", the words "reporting her" with reference to the individual concerned make me wonder whether the OP has any understanding of the situation or what he has done, even after he was asked to consider how he might feel if that individual was a daughter or a family member.

That of course is if you take the OP's narrative at face value.

And some people say that protecting children and vulnerable people shouldn't be taught in schools.

So if she wasn't 25 (she looks that old to me), or 18 but 14, what did all that legal chat in your IM hope to accomplish? Or your OP? What motivated you to spend so much energy on this... because some of us are all having trouble grasping your "save the children" mission?
