DaddySatyr -> RE: So, instead of trying to become citizens they just did nothing... (1/10/2018 11:43:41 PM)

Since I'm feeling unusually magnanimous, this morning, I've decided to help you out with these two bits which are, really part of a whole discussion on mean ol' Donald Trump and Saint Barack and how they "handled" immigration.

So we had:

Dude, Trump (who is now a politician, btw) & the govt & ICE doesnt give a shite if an immigrant is a woman, a child or a man.. if they stop you and you dont have "papers", they will drag you to jail and deport you.. its in Trump's EO.. and dont think ICE agents have a heart at all.. if they did, they wouldnt be doing that job in the first place..

Babe, while President Trump is, indeed a politician and has been for about nine years, he has not done the things you claim.

quote:

"As soon as he took office, Trump, whose anti-immigrant vitriol was a campaign trademark, signed two executive orders making nearly all undocumented immigrants target for arrest, detention, and deportation regardless of family ties, time they spent in this country, and criminal history. In September, Trump also rescinded stays on deportation granted through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, putting 800,000 young people brought to the U.S. as children in limbo and at risk for deportation."

I'd prefer to see this EO you claim to be so heartless, rather than an opinion piece.

that really centered around DACA (and how this thread got here, I don't know). DACA was about illegal immigrants and their children. The Original Post of this thread was about people who were allowed to immigrate here, on a TEMPORARY basis, legally.

Anyway, when St. Dumbo Ears initiated his "Executive Order", creating DACA, he gave, as his absolute reasoning, that it was, essentially, a case of "prosecutorial discretion" as we see, here:

quote:

ORIGINAL: St. Barak
In March 2011, he told Univision: "there are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as president."

"That does not mean, though, that we can't make decisions, for example, to emphasize enforcement on those who’ve engaged in criminal activity."

You see, what he was saying is: "I can't change the law, but I can change how I enforce it" and that's correct, technically (although dereliction could be accused).

So, he told his DOJ (essentially) not to worry about hard-working (mostly non-tax-paying) immigrants that happened to have invaded our country. Instead, concentrate on the criminals (like MS-13. How'd that work out?).

What President Trump did was issue a directive (or, Executive Order, if you prefer) that said: "Yeah ... we're not doing that, anymore."

So, really, just because one president saw this issue one way and structured his DOJ in such a way as to not follow the letter of the law, doesn't chain the new president to follow those directives. In fact, some would argue that illegal immigration was the sole real issue upon which President Trump was elected and as St. Barack also famously said: "Elections have consequences"

This case had nothing to do with divorce or custody. Did you even watch it?

quote:

ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr
Then, as I said: he's male. That's an uphill battle for an argument; not because there was divorce, necessarily, but because men, in general, aren't viewed as having the same parental instincts as women. Therefore, a male, wanting to stay for the sake of their children, doesn't present as sympathetic a character.

Can you see it, now? Did you even read it?

Your points were still irrelevant. There is nothing indications that his status as a parent was ever considered, and in fact he was deported before even being given the chance to show whether he would be a sympathetic character or not.

All this is clear in the video, which is why I questioned if you even watched it, as the comments you made had nothing to do with the circumstances described in the video.

Sounds like you are drawing a bunch of assumptions out of thin air, with absolutely nothing that supports them, or even indicates they may be a factor.

Well, then, we agree on the status of each others' points.

God bless America!

FR,

Hey, Lucy,

Don't like Trump's plans to not extend the TPS program? Neither does Trudeau, but not for the same reason. I sure hope you're getting hold of your representatives and getting them into action so Salvadorans can continue to live outside their own country....

And you will pretend blamelessness of your interference in their country, that exacerbated the additional troubles.

You Yanks are responsible for much of the failure here, with your Reagan idiocy.

Right, the US caused the earthquakes in El Salvador and Haiti.

And as pointed out, the Canadians dont want them either.

Dude, its obvious that you didnt read the article (which is why I provided the link [sm=banghead.gif]) cuz there was a link in it for Trumps EO's directly on the official Whitehouse.gov site.. In the EO's he says to deport anyone without "papers".. there is no difference between men, women or children in his EO... As far as your "Saint Barack" goes, he is your Saint, not mine, I found him to be just as much of a lying 2-faced bastard as any other American politician is.. and he definitely deported a lot of people (more than Bush ever did).. he just focused resources on the worst ones first.. that's all he did..

I still can't figure out why people who hate the Mexicans (or Salvadorans, etc.) being here want them to get citizenship "or you are outta here."

People are so confused.

I can help you out.

It's not that we "hate the Mexicans (or Salvadorans, etc.)". It's a matter of wanting to decide who has the ability to become citizens.

Illegal aliens broke the law, just by dint of how they got here. We don't need to import criminals.

These people to which the OP refers have been here for sixteen years, done nothing to make their status permanent and are now complaining because President Trump has decided to define "Temporary" in this case.

There is no doubt that most of these people have probably worked their fingers to the bone and contributed, but they've made no outward move that would suggest they wish to stay permanently.

I can't help but wonder if there's some "advantage" to not being permanent (not having to pay taxes, for example). I may need to do some research.

Actually as cruel as it might seem, I agree here. I do so based entirely on the fact that a friend and partner of mine went through $10,000 to stay here.

Briefly, took him 12 years, one wife and son born here, a year in ICE custody, back out under green card status having finally got it. Any one of those people could have done the same thing. Crooked lawyer didn't help.

Kids that are natural born citizens should have the option.
