Dianne Feinstein Finally did what Grassley wouldn't do,
She released the transcript from the Fusion GPS founders testimony to the judiciary committee. About bloody time.

Jan 09 2018

Washington—Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the transcript of Glenn Simpson’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee with the support of committee Democrats. Simpson is the co-founder of Fusion GPS.

“After speaking with majority and minority committee staff for 10 hours, Glenn Simpson requested the transcript of his interview be released publicly. The American people deserve the opportunity to see what he said and judge for themselves,” said Senator Feinstein. “The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice. The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public.”

The transcript is available here and corrections made after the transcript was finalized are available here.

No wonder Grassley didn't want this released.

It totally destroys the entire Republican dossier argument.

Hillary campaign hired Fusion GPS. After finding all the Trump links to Russian on their own, Fusion GPS hired a well respected MI6 Russianist WITHOUT telling him anything other than "see what Trump is doing in Russia". No mention of who the client was. No money paid to the Russians.

It turns out Steele had been doing work for the FBI and other law enforcement agencies for years and was (and is well respected).

I can see Jim Jordan crying his eyes out on Fox News.

Lucylastic -> RE: Dianne releases the transcript (1/9/2018 7:47:30 PM)

Grassely and especially Graham have lied, distracted, derailed, obfuscated and bullshitted abotu the whole damn thing, yet they demanded the fbi criminal charges brought against Trump dossier author

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/gop-senators-criminal-charges-trump-dossier-author-article-1.3739881
no wonder Dianne is pissed. and why she released.
Jim jordan needs arresting after his accusations in the media this past few weeks.
The possibility that trump was being blackmailed came from a trump insider...
was it bannon?? or someone else, the possibilities, are... endless.
PappaD seems to be a possible...

No wonder trumps been like a cat on a hot tin roof, hes gotta face Mueller soon, unless his lawyers manage to convince Mueller to take a written affidavit.
Blumenthal also stated twice that there will be "soon" more indictments and charges.
it gives me butterflies with the possibilities.

MrRodgers -> RE: Dianne releases the transcript (1/9/2018 9:50:08 PM)

On any implications toward or on Trump. it may not be enough to get a criminal conviction but if it is damaging enough. just maybe enough repub will convince Trump to resign.

I am entertained and as long as he keeps us out of war...don't really give a fuck anymore.

Grassley Sounds Off Again on Feinstein Releasing Fusion GPS Transcript

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was irate that his fellow Senate Judiciary Committee member Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) decided to release the transcript of their closed door meeting with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, conducted last year.[yeah, because that's not important is it!]

Grassley's press secretary Taylor Foy released a statement criticizing Feinstein for going back on her word and not consulting with the chairman before releasing the transcript.

"Her action undermines the integrity of the committee’s oversight work and jeopardizes its ability to secure candid voluntary testimony relating to the independent recollections of future witnesses," Foy said. [yeah, because that's not important is it!]

On Wednesday, CNN's Manu Raju got a reaction from the senator himself, who emphasized the "problems" Feinstein has created for the committee and the investigation. The Fusion GPS would have been released eventually, but Feinstein acted much too prematurely.

"People will be more reserved about cooperating," and voluntarily coming forward to interview, Grassley said. People, he meant, like Jared Kushner. [yeah, because that's not important is it!]

Grassley just told us that Feinstein release of transcript makes it harder to bring in Jared Kushner. Asked him if Kushner is off the hook: “No, not at all.”
— Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 10, 2018

President Trump also responded to Feinstein's action, giving her the nickname "Sneaky."

The fact that Sneaky Dianne Feinstein, who has on numerous occasions stated that collusion between Trump/Russia has not been found, would release testimony in such an underhanded and possibly illegal way, totally without authorization, is a disgrace. Must have tough Primary!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 10, 2018

Grassley, not entirely amused, told CNN he "doesn't want to know" what Trump meant by the statement.

In the formerly confidential transcript, we learned that one person died as a result of the publishing of the dossier, so Simpson's attorney Josh Levy told the committee.

DOJ official Bruce Ohr lost two job titles after the discovery he met secretly with the dossier author last year. Trump lawyer Michael Cohen went public with a defamation lawsuit against BuzzFeed and Fusion GPS on Tuesday.

Despite the controversy over the release of the transcript, Grassley said that he and Feinstein were working on which witnesses to bring forward.

sinks to the level of "butthurt" as opposed to criticizing a lack of sound legal/investigatory practice.

EXACTLY!!! <standing on hind paws while putting left forepaw on nose and pointing the other forepaw at bounty44>

Her action undermines NOTHING other than his attempt to conceal the truth, which happens to counter the Republican narrative.

People will be more INCLINED to cooperate as a witness's testimony that he ASKED several times to be released, was finally released. The witness is grateful for this release.

So, you have two ridiculous (in the truest sense of the word) points brought up by a butt hurt petulant child who was upset because he couldn't keep the truth from the American people.

I am pleased that you realize it most definitely sinks to the level of "butthurt" and BELOW.

The Fusion GPS guy posted an op-ed this weekend, calling for his complete Congressional interview to be released. So why would releasing it, as he asked, make anyone reluctant to cooperate?

Jared Kushner should have been interviewed long before now. The Fusion GPS interview was conducted summer 2017, and Congress has known about the Trump Tower meeting since at least that time.

Why havent they interviewed Kush already?
the action by Feinstein isnt illegal, or problematic, except for grassley, graham, jordan, gowdy and the rest of them.
Please feel free to tell me in your OWN words(not a link)
WHY they wouldn't release the transcript, after promising to release it as soon as they could, and
WHY they recommended the DOJ look into criminal investigation of steele after having the transcript that has nothing to do with steele being a criminal(obvious from the transcript itself)
All they have done is cover it up.
Feinstein did her job,
thatyou hate it, is even better.

If telling lies is the heinous crime they are making it out to be, WTF are they doing supporting a pathological liar like Trump?
