The Trump administration has released a pregnant undocumented minor to a sponsor so she can obtain an abortion, Vice News reported Sunday.
The teenager, known as “Jane Moe,” was set to be released by Friday, Jan. 26, but was instead released nearly two weeks early.
Moe had requested an abortion but was prevented from obtaining one by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), an office within the Department of Health and Human Services.
She was the fourth undocumented immigrant that the Trump administration had attempted to block from getting an abortion in recent months.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has represented each of the teenagers, and each of them eventually obtained abortions.
The group had asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia for a temporary restraining order so Moe could have the procedure.
“While we are relieved that Jane Moe is reunited with her sponsor, the government blocked her from her abortion for more than two weeks, before deliberately moving her out of their custody only when we filed to take them to court,” Brigitte Amiri, a senior staff attorney at the ACLU’s Reproductive Freedom Project, said in a statement obtained by Vice News.
“We continue to pursue all avenues to ensure that no other young woman like her is forced to continue a pregnancy against her will for purely political reasons,” Amiri said.
The Trump administration did not immediately return a request for comment from Vice.

This must be quite the dilemma for Trump & his bunch (and those that voted for him).. on the one hand, they obviously are against abortions, and on the other hand, if the undocumented minor has the baby then there is another one of those dreaded anchor babies...
