I’m new here so please forgive me if this is a stupid question with an obvious answer. One thing that isn’t clear to me is what a Mistress might look for in a sub - not so much physical things but more behaviour and attitude. I guess this would very quite a bit from person to person, but there must be some common themes that could help a prospective sub to do the right things to please a Mistress and build a better relationship.

A Mistress is a woman. So what do women want in a partner in general? Of course it's varied! All of them have different needs and wants. The best advice I can give is be the best you you can be. But be real about it, and get better. What do you bring to the table? What makes you stand apart from other guys? What are your interests? What are your kinks?

As with ANY sort of relationship, being able to respect the other party is indispensible.

Replace Domne/Mistress with woman. She is a woman. So what does a woman want from a partner?

To be able to enjoy being together outside and inside playtime. To enjoy sharing a life together. Actually dating by going for drinks and meals out as you would date a non-kink woman. Yes they start the foundation.
Really clear communication is extremely important.

Obedience to the Dominant Woman and her way of doing things is in every layer of life for me, and those who are mine. But, personally I prefer Slaves.

Each person has personal traits which attract another. Honesty, similar life goals and all sorts are mixed together. Because to me I do BDSM within a committed relationship. However, there are different situations for different people.

Define what works for you, what you offer and what you seek.
