Once upon a time, Collarme had active forums and I had many positive (or enlightening, at least) interactions with members of the site from all over. Then, one day, POOF there was some drama behind the scenes and the forums disappeared, taking all those wonderful active, ongoing conversations with them. So now they're back from cyberspace without that look upon their face but they just look abandoned like rained-on lace. Are any of those unique contributors still around or did they all go elsewhere?

I think they waited too long to bring the forums back. 6 years or so have passed since they shut them down so abruptly. Lots of people moved over to Fetlife. Quite a few people passed away too. I find it a little disheartening that the only topic category that sprang back to life is the politics thread; there's more than enough of that on the front page of every single news site! I'll be interested to see if people do come back. The post on fetlife that told us the forums were active again didn't seem to interest people in returning.

Yeah. I'm not big on the FL forums. Don't like the way they're organized. They're all over the place, not easy to define IMHO, and I hate the formatting.
Much less fun than the freeforall fiascos that CM once was.
Too bad cuz we had one great community here once upon a time. All ruined by shit hole selfishness.
I'd like to see this place return to the glory days but the new rules and restrictions make it darn tough to develop any
Enthusiam.
Plus if they can't even bother to approve new profiles, that's an epic fail of business 101.
FFS, most businesses have about 5% of the clientele supporting 95% of the business and I see no reason CS would
Be an exception. And I know from experience that there's many a lurker avidly and anonymously reading the forums for each poster.

Tis a shame. One made worse by the fact that most of the old forums are kaput, gone with time. And there were
Years of good posts there, certainly lots of effort from me.

Unlike the Dude,CM and CS did not and do not abide.

Life is full of tragedies, sad to say

Fet is too much like Facebook, where you have to know people to get to know people, or just ass into a group you know nothing about, with all the bs politics that surrounds that. I could do it, but why? I just haven't found any groups I like well enough.

I don't know that these forums were down for too long, but all of the issues on the other side keep new members from coming in, or from coming back to see if anybody responded to their profile verification thread yet.

Maybe everybody just found other shit to do during covid? I hear things about this place called Outside.

True that. But unfortunately nowadays the weak ass peeps that run this site won't even approve my profile pics.
Beyond irked about this nonsense.
WTFF. It would have been better to let the site die than to have this half-assed attempt at a revival.
Am I critical?
You bet. But whattya ya expect from a sadistic dominant, cupcakes and
PC?

I just wish I had access to all those years of forums posts. I did some glorious writing here once and now it's gone forever due to ineptitude and negligence.
Alas, alas, Babylon is dead, it lies in ruins.
Sigh
People suck...and they wonder why I'm a sadist

Some of our old friends just can't get on the forum at all anymore, or had their cs accounts closed or locked. If only there was a DACA kinda thing for forumites lol

Tis true.

But in sooth my current beef is more about the inability to get a profile approved.
I've generally always viewed this place the same way a jungle cat sees it's favorite hunting grounds, a place to find prey. And damnitall, I had a very nice prospect in sight and was fully invested in the process of putting her in when my effing profile got placed on hold and now I can't even send the wench an email. It's irritating AF and the bluer my bells get the less happy I am with the entire clusterfuck

(I had posted something here in response to finding older posts, but turns out it wasn't completely accurate, so never mind me.)

I can find a limited numbered
of old posts, maybe 12 pages of entries, but that's it. And I damn well know I've hundred if not thousands of forum entries posted over the years, some quite eloquent. If I had known they might disappear I'd have saved them as I went because there was much collected wisdom and experience in thos posts. But alas, I fear they are now forever gone, lost casualties in the river of time.

Im finding this happening more and more often across the net. Tis worrisome, because nothing here is permanent, tis all transitory, like Rutgers tears in Blade Runner

Remember RedMagic? He posted the comment below on Fet when collarspace first shut down:

“If you start here, you can get to any post dated Feb 7, 2014 or earlier. http://web.archive.org/web/*/collarchat.com Also, if you have a post saved on your bookmarks, which I know many people do, you can modify the above url, and you will probably go directly to an archived version of the post.”

That link still works as I checked but I didn’t search for anything. Here is the link separated out:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/collarchat.com
