GrandpaLash -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (3/1/2005 2:28:30 PM)

A quick analysis shows some fascinating anomolies.

From memory, the normal splits are roughly:

E 65% I 35%
S 60% N 40%
T 60% F 40%
J 65% P 35%

Our sample of 40 subjects here:

E 30% I 70%
S 27.5% N 72.5%
T 40% F 60%
J 75% P 25%

Keeping in mind the E, S, and T are the least likely to believe in these tests, and may therefore have not bothered even looking at the thread, those are very unusual results. I would have expected a far greater number of S types, for instance. Then again, subjecting oneself to extreme sensation may well be iNtuitive types trying to balance their personalities.

Also highly unusual is the number of INFJ types, 27.5 times their normal distribution, and INFP at 5 times their norm.

It is a highly selective sample, of course, and no real conclusions can be drawn because of the biased sample, but it does raise enough interesting points to suggest that a properly designed survey would be fertile ground for research. Getting the ESTs to participate, however, could be a real problem, since you can't force anybody to either take the test, or take it seriously if they do sit for it.

Thank You GrandpaLash. I would like to use that for My Master's thesis if I may. It should prove interesting.
