Status: online 		In a nearly 2 minute video, Mike Pence declared his campaign for President.

So Trump will have people gunning for him on the debate stage, and I'm sure he'll be returning jabs. I am anxious to see Trump and Pence on stage to be asked about January 6th.

1 of 2 horribly corrupt, incompetent, failed former governors, running for the Republican nomination.

Glad he did the right thing on 1/6. But the rest of his political career is a shit show.

Status: online 		I think Pence is a credible threat to reproductive rights and the LGBTQ+ community, but I think he actually believes most of what he's saying, though walking that fine line. I'm not a fan of his policies, and ultimately wouldn't vote for him, but I don't think he's a threat to democracy.

Yes, a Pence Presidency would suck and bad things would happen. But I think he's establishment enough to not break the country. Maybe financially.

He would be disaster in any executive position. He would run the US like he did, Indiana. Into the ground.

Status: online 		Pence can't defend the federal charges against Trump, but of course he can't believe politics didn't have anything to do with the investigation.

No. The fucking crimes are the only reason an investigation occured, the only reason for all of this mess. It's such bullshit the GOP just doubles down on their dirtiness instead of owning up to it, and going with a tactic that might actually not be criminal?

Only the guilty make excuses.

I think there are 6-10 of us back to answer the question you asked on the other one.

No point writing a long one given he decided to quit. I have a few opinions on Pence but for brevity sake all the other candidates are much worse and dangerous to boot.

VP he should have stood up to Trump personally, and also did that publicly and vocally as Trump literally burned the capitol building down as the rest of the world watched on agog.

Status: online 		Why waste the energy to make a new thread on a non-event like Pence? Even with this massive crowd?

On January 6th, Pence became a real man. No clue why his balls didn't drop sooner, but how much credit do you give a guy for not being an evil asshat once in his life? He wasn't hardcore enough to win the rightwing, and he was too fucking evil and boring to gain support of any moderates or liberals.

And really, he's too fucking boring personally for the media to even give a shit. It's like if you take Bush 41 and strip him of everything badass and macho about him, but add in more obvious bigotry and a weird wife thing.

Plus, nobody will ever forget the fly on his head during the VP debate.

Status: online 		I wouldn't say harmless. In fact, I think he's done and allowed a great deal of harm. He was Trump's VP, which makes him an accessory to everything Trump did while he was in office. He knew the plan to overturn the election before January 6, but kept it to himself. So to me at least, he is culpable for the violence of that day. He could have stopped it before it started. He could have disavowed Trump and his actions, publicly, at any point during his time as VP. He didn't.

So yeah, fuck him. Let him rot in obscurity, or write a bullshit book. I just don't care, as long as he's not in a position of power again.

I wonder what Dan Quayle is up to these days.

Status: offline 		Harmless wasn't the best word I could have used. I have heard pretty much what you said about him and some of his other stuff.

I meant it in the way he is the most Harmless of the current crop of lunatic fucktards that are running, or in his case was running.

But you got me thinking that he is in fact actually the most dangerous because he was in a position to stop Trump, he being Vice President at that. Although the other bunch are election deniers, and they would have did the same I suspect, or worse.

Status: online 		Trump showed us all just how dangerous it is for any one person to have so much power. But the office of president couldn't work at all if it didn't have that power.

Of the current GOP candidates, I think I like Nikki Haley the most. I'd need to read up more about her, and I would still prefer Biden, but I don't have panic attacks when I hear her name.

He stormed in twice via simple majority of minus 9 million.
