I have seen instances where the name was used, making fun of the staffer because of the name, among other things. I think the word "incel" was used quite a bit by TimTok creators.

I didn't hear the details of the platform where the name was used, but I'll take your word for it that it was a gamer tag. I think the personal attacks as pedantic as the name itself. My concern is what he's doing in government agencies.

I hadn't heard about Dem staffers having sex in the Senate chamber. I did see an interview with a GOP Senator (I think, could a been a House member) talking about being invited to drug fueled sex parties by other GOP members. And that Lauren Bohbert was giving some guy a handjob at Beetlejuice the Musical or something. Apparently, there's different rules in DC anyway, but again, I haven't heard that.

Status: offline 		Seems like a case of tail wagging dog to me. Republicans have already decided exactly how much money they want to cut Medicaid by, instead of rooting out actual fraud and punishing those responsible. And that's more than just Medicaid recipients
Doctors, hospitals, medical equipment suppliers, insurance companies... Every type of entity that deals with Medicaid (or any facet of the federal government) is capable of fraud and overcharging.

A quick Google search says that in 2023, thousand of cases of Medicaid fraud and patient abuse were investigated and prosecuted. The office that handles those investigations and prosecutions reports to the Inspector General of Health and Human Services (HHS), which Trump conveniently fired not so long ago. Having dealt with Medicaid, I know that each state determines the eligibility of each applicant.

I'm against defrauding the government in such a way, though I've known quite a few people that have been denied Medicaid that actually needed and deserved it.

The proposed cuts to Medicaid have me curious about just how the system works, but since states do have to review applicants, I believe it is a state-run program, meaning the federal government sends money to each state for it and the state adds to that budget each year. As Medicaid recipients aren't paid directly, the majority of fraudulent spending likely comes from the service providers billing Medicaid. I remember my own Senator,Rick Scott, having to deal with claims that he defrauded Medicaid before he became governor of Florida. Nothing ever came of that though.
