As a submissive, I like to be approached. But the dynamics of findign a partner rarely work like that. My Guesstimate is that there are more subs than doms, so waiting for one to approach me is unlikely to happen.

But YMMV

Personally,i would LOVE to be approached by a Domme! However we far out number the Dommes,and the Dommes already have their hands full with hundreds or thousands or whatever of subs applications.its just part of the whole searching for E/each other process i guess.As subs we just have to be patient and know that "SHE" is out there and is very much worth waiting for

[:D] I know from being born submissive or feeling that I was,
It is easy being submissive because that is what I am. But yes finding a Domme or Domm, is harder much Harder. Plus finding a Ture Domm or Domme is like finding a needle in a hay stack. "So Is it a true rareity
when the right one comes along?[&:]"

you are absolutely right! On any given day when I sign on to check my messages or to come in to the forum, I will have between 50-150 messages in my box waiting for me. To be fair I have got to open every single one of them, even though I know that I will probably end up deleting 90% of them. Why? Because 90% of them will start off with "Hey, nice ankles!" or worse...something sexual in nature. I have no intention of answering them. It is not my position to educate these fools on common email courtesy or D/s etiquette. My profile is clear, enough said. For the remaining ten percent, maybe five will be from Doms that think they may want to explore a possible submissive side they aren't sure they have but think they might. lol I will generally write a polite email and decline. I may end up with one email that I think may be a potential consideration. However, by the time I get through all that, it has consumed whatever time I had to do anything else on the site.

I have, however, on occasion, when I saw an interesting profile upon signing in, initiated an email (using the send a note feature) to a sub.

When I was searching, both happened. I was approached, I also approached. The good thing about approaching someone is something about them already intrigued me.
If you don't go out and get what you want in life, life will pass you by.

maidenmike -> RE: A Question (5/13/2004 8:13:27 PM)

As an extremely shy guy, i'd love to be approached. But, sigh, that's not the real world. As others are saying here, subs outnumber Dominant Women greatly. So, i must battle my shyness everytime i make an approach. And i lose that battle too many times! But still trying...
