The American Taliban (Christian Coalition) in action

fullofgrace -> RE: Bush, Congress Spending Taxpayer Dollars to Mislead Women (8/1/2006 8:08:23 AM)

yep, it's disgusting.

SirKenin -> RE: Bush, Congress Spending Taxpayer Dollars to Mislead Women (8/1/2006 8:37:14 AM)

HAHAHAHA.

A Pro-Choice Newsletter "reporting" about actions taken against "Pro-Choice" centers citing DEMOCRATIC representatives as sources.

And you guys fell for this shit?  And actually had the balls to present it as NEWS and complain about it?

They know they are going down.  They have been feeding women biased bullshit information since Roe vs Wade, pumping out the highest number of abortions in American history, and it was only a matter of time.

Absolutely priceless.

I can't help but wonder how many abortions you've inquired about having.

I can not help but wonder what that has to do with anything?  Or maybe, according to you, research means nothing and I have to be a woman to have anything to say on this topic.  Which you know is just down right retarded.

No, it was merely an attempt to discredit Me, which is always a last ditch effort of a desperate person who does not have anything factual to contribute to the contrary.  You see it all the time in Law and it is easy to spot.

Important Notice for Alanis Morissette!

This is what "ironic" means.  Remember that Sir Kenin's first post was a simple attempt to discredit this news by jeering at the source.  His second post is a self-righteous denunciation of that very same tactic.

"Rain on your wedding day" is not ironic.  Please feel free to use this example in the remake.

Wow.  Feeling a bit...defensive?

It was my first thought in response to your post.  I'll note you didn't answer it, either.  If you're going to be antagonistic and contrary then it would seem prudent to assume someone will challenge your position (rather than thinking it MUST be a personal attack).

How many abortion clinics and/ or pro-life centers have you interacted with on a personal level?

I'm not sure what is more wrong, an organization that publicizes information regarding it's clearly stated objectives or someone who has a slamming, knee-jerk reaction against without personal experience (but I do have an idea which seems more the workings of an individual emotionally stunted in adolescence).  Yeah, that last was a slam (just for clarity and ownership's sake).

So again I say - how many abortion and 'other choice' clinics have you participated in? What were your experiences?  How were you counseled?  Was the information accurate?  What was the outcome?  Do you have any interest in the experiences of others who have used these services?  From what base do you discredit this posted announcement?

From what do you base your apparent antagonism other than personal opinion, perhaps loosely based in experience and perhaps not?  The "lefty" in me wants to know where your opinion comes from (which was the reason for my original post).  What's your story?

Lashra -> RE: Bush, Congress Spending Taxpayer Dollars to Mislead Women (8/1/2006 11:25:35 AM)

What does SirKenin know about abortion or being a woman? Absolutely NOTHING, hence why I stopped reading his uninformative, hate filled posts along time ago. I posted this for people who may wish to read it for informational purposes, if you agree or disagree fine but why attack people for passing it along? He must not have anything else to do, poor guy.

Ken,

For the sake of argument, lets say the source is completely biased and that those actions are not taking place.

That said, would you say those actions are right or wrong?  The actions being using tax money to fund groups who spread disinformation about the safety and efficiacy of abortion.

So a simple right or wrong will suffice.

Since it seems clear that you oppose abortion what would you propose we do with the 400,000 additional babies born to women who don't want them?  That is a brand new city the size of Houston every five years, ignoring for a moment the potential for exponential growth.

MasterRenegade77 -> RE: Bush, Congress Spending Taxpayer Dollars to Mislead Women (8/1/2006 1:37:27 PM)

I've always supported NARAL just because I've always wanted to be in control of My own life so why shouldn't women also... Someone sent Me an article on Christian Fascism before the last election I wish I still had it but I googled Christian Fascism & came up with this, http://www.refuseandresist.org/rnc/art.php?aid=1713.

Please Be Sure  to Read the whole article but I'll quote from it here...
quote:

Gott Mit Uns "Christian fascism," the Maoists call it, emphasizing its social agenda which presently includes reversing Roe vs. Wade, banning gay marriage, promoting school prayer, challenging science, and generally attacking the strict separation of church and state. The libertarians in contrast focus on the agenda of the neocons, who as it happens are primarily secular Jews highly supportive of Israel's Likud Party and influential in shaping foreign policy after 9-11, particularly as it pertains to what they've been calling "the Greater Middle East." Clearly the term "Christian fascist" doesn't describe these people, who may have mixed feelings about a movement currently useful to their foreign policy agenda but which could turn on them and make life uncomfortable for many people who reject fundamentalist Christianity. If fascists, they are of a different if kindred variety. Everyone applying the f-word agrees that the fascists have no regard for civil liberties and have used 9-11 to vitiate the Bill of Righ

Maybe it'll help you understand what & why it's happening...
