Yes, I would suggest you research this very carefully. The nerve bundle is located there and can be easily severed by someone who does not know what they're doing. Leaving you with no feeling at all. And no way to regain it. I had seriously considered this type of piercing, untill I found this out and decided it wasn't worth it.

The "Hood" is simply the loose "foreskin" (if you will) that covers the clit, it's actually the upper portion of the labia minora. It doesn't have a 'nerve bundle' you refer to. I believe you are probably referencing the nerves that go to the clit which are behind the clit inside the body.

Fear of hitting nerves is not a big concern with HOOD piercing (which is essentially the piercing of the labia minora where it covers the clit), but it's a fair risk for CLIT piercing (which usually occures just behind the clit) which should only be done by someone experienced in same and familiar with the inner workings of female genital neurological anatomy.

Hood Piercings and Clit Piercings are not the same thing. If someone says they want a "triangle" then they are talking about a clit piercing, not a hood piercing.

Yes, I have TWO hood piercings - and if my hood was large enough I'd have SIX! I love mine, I've never had to stretch up, although if I wanted to I could. They each healed in about two weeks, made me more sensitive for a little while (but not long enough - that's why I'd have MORE if they could fit!) but within a month the sensation was back to normal.

The most challenging part of healing time was when the jewelry would get 'tweaked' in mid stride while walking or sitting. Not always a wonderful feeling but not exactly terrible and hard to live with, either.

Your mileage may vary.

What I did find was that, although pretty, it was a pain in the ass. It got in the way of oral sex. If the vibrator hit it the wrong way or was on too high all it did was hurt.

hahaha My only problem with mine and the vibe is that they make a lot of NOISE which can be distracting. I do, however, use the rings to expose the clit, which I've found very convenient (as have the people who have had the opportunity to use my rings similarly).

For me, it was the gauge of the jewelry that made all the difference.

The piercing is usually done at a 12 or 14 gauge, but the more you increase the gauge, the better it feels. Right now I am at a 12, wanting to move up to a 10. I think I will probably go to an 8 or a 6 and then stop for aesthetic reasons.

I'm at a 10 gauge at the moment, moving to an 8 shortly. I'd like to go to a 4 or a 2, possibly 0 gauge.
