Thanks, LA.  You make a good point - when you see a person's posts for awhile, you have a better understanding of what he/she is saying.

Hard day.  I was out of explanations.  :)

I understood, and I don't know you at all.

Some people just don't understand metaphors and analogies. Others will question the terms of comparison -- it's why comparisons are so dangerous, I think (even when they're needed to make your point, like in this case). It's not that the misunderstanding is deliberate, but the comparison can push buttons that break down the communication.

My Lord uses a collar in two ways.  He has made individual ones with distinct markings for Alandra and me to wear.  There is one for play and then one he calls a dress collar.  When he puts these on us it is a symbol of our relationships as master and slaves.  The ones he made for us will not be worn by anyone else.

He also has another collar that he will put on his play partners when he feels like it.  He uses it to create a headspace for the play.  This collar is not individualized and does not symbolize ownership.

Use the collar in either way as long as everyone understands what the significance is and I think you explained the difference for you very well in your OP.

If you are owned, a collar is only needed to puff up about it.

Disagree... like many things, a collar can be a symbol.  Just because it means a puff up to you, it doesn't to everyone.  I couldn't give a shit if you or anyone else saw me in a collar.  If you take it as a simple of 'puffing up' that says more about you than it does about the person wearing the collar.

That is probably one of the most dangerous statements I have seen on the forum or heard.

Romantic hogwash to you fine.  But to some people even marriage doesn't equal romance.  Again, self imposing your ideas and fantasy on others.
