I was Curious is it Really that hard to make A Flogger?
It seems like it would be~[&:]

This one looks really hard to have made~
I know this flogger belongs to a site, but just wanted to show a pic, sorry to offend anyone~

I guess it depends on how intricate the design. I made a fairly simple one for Master last year for Valentine's Day. I braided a handle around a dowel and had 18 knotted flails on the end. It took under two hours to make, not counting conditioning. I bought all of the supplies at Michael's. It is used fairly often and so far is still in one piece so it is fairly sturdy.

I do have such a thing about floggers. I've never seen one like that before though. It looks like, it'd be a bit harder to use. Let's just say, that one looks VERY interesting...[:)]

Go to any Army-Navy surplus (or camping, mountain climbing) store and look for parachute cord. It's made of nylon, and has about 7 or 8 small nylon threads placed inside another woven nylon out shell. Cut the cords to the desired lengths and melt the ends shut with a lighter (makes neat little red marks on you) or leave them unmelted (for a lighter stroke with no real marks). Go to the library (or Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc) and look for a book on Marlin Spike Seamanship. It will show you all sorts of ways to make decorative knots, weavings, etc that you can use to make a handle. Hope that helped.
