I have been using a voilet wand for years (my friends) and I LOVE them! I just bought a 25 piece set! You can do a wide range of intensity levels depending on the electrode and how it is used. You can use it for branding temp and perm if ou know what you are doing. The sound is scarier than it actually feels. Soem people love it others do not. I enjoy keep someone ont heir toes wih it or just using it on their toes lolol

Good Luck!!!

Here is a link to where I got mine and there is some great information on the site as well.

I bought a violet wand two years ago, and Sir got one for Christmas the year before. We love ours, and we have spent more than one evening doing nothing but violet wand play with a stream of willing volunteers.

I bought mine from violetwands.net and the customer service was fabulous. I got the X terminator kit, and we use almost every item we got with it. We also love Christmas time as that is when the mylar, foil, and metallic decorations come out that we snatch up and take home to see how well they work with indirect techniques.

The wand can be anywhere from mild to OMG OW OW OW depending on the bottom, and the setting. For me, most of the time I take it about halfway, but if I am tense or if I am cold, I can't take it as intensely.

Please be aware that most people either adore the wand or they hate it. Very few people feel the violet wand and have a "eh, whatever" kind of response.

Got to run or I'll be late to work but would be happy to answer questions on the thread or in e-mail about the wand. One of my favorite toys.

I went to the DCSMBX and was introduced to the wands and fell in love with them. I have yet to get my own for I was always able to use some at my local club BOUND. After playing with them for a week or so... I started to come up with toys just for the violet wands. This is also a big attraction to the wands.. Just being able to use your imagination to keep the fun electric. My favorite toy I came up with was a wooden paddle with a metal core. The metal is exposed at the tip and there are leads in the handle to ground it. So when you have a contact that attaches to you, you become part of the circuit and you can paddle and shock at the same time. We are starting to sell that one actually.
I would recomend people check out http://violetwands.net join the guild there.. check out the pics..or pick up single pieces for you wand. Or for you myspacers  http://www.myspace.com/violetwands
I can't wait to buy mine. I just have to sell some more homes first..

I don't own a violet wand & haven't played with one "yet".   I'm looking forward to the experience someday.

If I'm not mistaken, prolonged exposure to one can cause sunburn, so those who may be sensitive to UV radiation (especially those on meds that increase sensitivity) may want to play with extra caution.

Concur with one caveat.
Unlike most toys/tools, this one can't simply be tossed into the toybag and trucked around for playparties, etc. immho, this decreases the value of a violet wand *unless* one's prime interest is electrical play.
I've watched Uncle Abdul "play" at quite a few events/parties and truly admire his skill with wands, tens units, etc. However, I've also seen all the "stuff" he has to drag into the space and the amount of time it takes to set up the equipment. Thank you, but no thank you.

Amazon has it starting from $65...but it's worthit if you enjoy good, informative books.

Since you've already bought the unit, Ms Bearlee's recommendation is worth noting. For safety information, if nothing else. :)

Sorry but why does it take him a long time to set it up?
I have owned violet wands for years. They come in a nice easy little carry case and I take mine along to most clubs and then just find a socket and bingo Im ready to play.

The problem for me is Im a ‘violet wand slut’. Many a time I have started playing with the wand on a female only to climb on top so that I can feel the currant running through me too. The wands work if you use them for doubling up on the clit!! Multi orgasms had by both!!!

Your right, they can. I tend to go ott on myself with the thing and it often leaves my skin feeling like its been scratched. It only tends to last for a few hours but it will effect people differently if they take a lot.

The comb on a violet wand is great for kids if they have head lice and my son recently used mine to get rid of a wart. I also find the neck piece very good for massage purposes if I have been doing a lot of driving.

We love ours!  I play from both sides with it.  it is way more than a simple mindfuck!  We got ours as a single xmas gift for ourselves abuot 4 -5 years agon now.  It is the mosy expensive thing we own, but then I make many things mysefl and we ahve been told our floggers could sell for more than we paid for the VW.  It was totally worth it for us.  it has it's own carry case, not at all heavy and every place we ahve taken it has had an outlet to plug into.  We do take a good extension cord - NOT a thin home one but heavy duty and duct tape to tape said cord to the floor if it crosses any area where people might walk.  If we are for sure going to use the VW, we talk to a DM or other person in charge ahead of time and try to assertain a good spor close to outlet, and we get it set up prior to play and offer to leave the extension cord in place for duration of party so if other need one, it is already there.  This has led up to make that preparation in advance when hosting a party or assisting with someone else's party set up.  we also love knives and it is a perfect companion for knives.

Ours came from Rupert Huse and Son and we are very happy with it.  We got a big assortment of attachments for it and keep adding to it with things we make or find.  A tiny copper tube with xmas tinsel hanging out like a tiny flogger - held in w shrink wrap ...  ohhh what fun!  chain flogger!  talons!

mmmm!

I've been the recipient of violet wand play quite a few times and it sends me flying faster than anything else.

If you really want an intense experience try using it on piercings, combine it with lots of play piercings and it'll send me into orbit.

Anyone who wants to get rid of a QUALITY unit, I am interested, cash or trade.

Oh, and watch out for piercings as the potential for a burn due to the difference in conductivety is very real.

That said they are GREAT party favors and lots of fun.  I love toys that can be both sensual and sadistic.

I ordered one from huse.com and was thinking of taking it with me on a trip. However, I haven't had occasion to fly with any kind of bdsm toys since the pre 9/11 days. Would checking it to go underneath seal its fate? Somehow I can't imagine them allowing it as a carry-on if a 3 oz. tube of toothpaste is a no-no. TIA

we bought ours from Rupert Huse and sons as well back in november sometime. if i remember correctly we paid around $500 and change. it's well worth the investment if you plan on using it and not let it waste away in it's box.

I love My violet-wand, and I get alot of use out of it. Of course it depends what attachment, and setting the violet-wand is set to, for sensation & intensity. The lovely comb attachment and the mushrooms provide a wonderful sensation, especially with furry subs lol. I have 4 intense attachments that are quite cruel, yet I love to see the spark touch the flesh, whilst the probe is not even in contact with the flesh. I also have a small black box tens, very, very cruel, but I enjoy using My violet wand moreso.

I love it!!! But then again I am a bit of an electricity junkie...lol.

Sometimes the sound of it makes me jump.  But I love the sensuous side of it as well.  When he uses the patch, the electricity runs through his fingertips.  I can't help but respond the way I do.  I find it extremely erotic, and of course stimulating.

Both Violet Wands and TENS Units are OK for beginners to EES (Erotic Electro Stimulation) and/or those who only seek mild electric play.  But when you're ready to graduate to more intense, esoteric EES activities, try PES Electro (www.peselectro.com).  PES has some of the best EES gear available.  My favorite device of theirs is The Samurai.  They also have other great items, such as electrified anal and vaginal plugs.  And they have a power box that can operate two different devices simultaneously, which allows you to run an anal and vaginal plug at the same time while enjoying a more "hands on" approach to tormenting her tits.  It's all a matter of maximizing the potential of each scene.

Enjoy!!!

The sensation from a violet wand can be exciting -- from (sort of) a gentle tingle to much stronger.  If you read some of the links available, with the right set-up with a pointed wand (metal), one can actually do branding (for those of you into more "edgy" things).  I would like to make one correction -- a violet wand does not emit static electricity.  The arc is caused by high-voltage, high-frequency electricity (bu very low amperage).  A violet wand operates on a similar principle as a Tesla coil.

Thanks for the response. The price you quoted is "right on the money"...mine arrived yesterday and it looked like UPS was none too careful with it. The rod attachment was broken, even though the latching plastic box and foam padding were intact. (I called Rupert Huse and they're sending out a replacement.) So having had that experience, I'm not going to subject the kit to the rigors of airline travel. I had thought about shipping it ahead of me, but I'll just bring it with me on occasions when I'm driving. I plan to get lots of use out of it regardless <weg>

He actually has that unit and that is what we use outside of the violet wand.  I personally can't say enough about it.  Multiple attachments are fun.  One can even use it so two subs can experience it at the same time.  The downloadable programs are great too.  I think my favorites are the Orgasm program and the Torment one.

There's alot of versitality to a wand. My favorite part is becoming the conductor then useing my hands on a sub. Gotta make sure they are tied to something really sturdy/heavy if you're gonna touch the tip of their cock though...  Touching tongues is also awesome. Great for switches playing dare/dare.  My skin is extremely pale so i do tend to mark, especially when using with a Wharton's wheel. The marks last a few days (like sunburn) but don't hurt at all. I think you could do some pretty interesting designs with the wheel.

Luckily right about when we got this my daughter quit cheer and i have her 1/2 mylar pom poms....now that's a cool show in the dark and a wild experience. We keep one pom in the toy bag as it's also good for sensation play. Our wand is in a small well padded case, easy to drop in the car when you go.

I love old posts resurected. Violet wands are great, how ever very expensive. In the sense of cost vs use. But the sound and as someone mentioned previously , the light show is fantastic.. For those that have never seen one in use,,
