This is a very odd statement from  you because anyone who knows anything about electrical play, knows that the violet wand is as different from a PES as a cat is from a dog!!! And I should just mention that the PES is a tens unit that has been modified for sexual and BDSM play purposes.
PES, ELECTROSTIM, ESTIM http://www.e-stim.co.uk/index.php are modified tens with sexual attachments which will cause shallow to deep muscle spasm. I have an Electrostim but would never use it on myself because I hate the feeling it gives.
Violet wands on the other hand, stimulate the surface of the skin and feel totally different.

I never thought I'd be a fan of electric play, but I'm enjoying the violet wand. Once I get past the tingling sensation in my fingers, using the contact pad is especially fun.

I checked out the PES site and have it bookmarked. I saw several interesting devices there. Thanks!

The temp and permanant branding aspect of a wand is VERY real.  It can be done; has been done. 

I personally LOVE violet wands.  I read through several posts and see that people don't like the price *I didn't either, but mine was a gift*.  People don't like the set up time *ahh...takes no more time than setting up for liquid latex or other specialty play*  people only use occasionally  *yes but that's like anything..the more stuff you own, the less things are used unless it's your FAV*

I love that you can do things like kiss while electrified....damn hot shock to the tounge, you can rake it over a metal zipper for a kick, you can turn it up and down chaninging the zap.  You can ground yourself or not....so does an implement shock the bottom or do you by simply touching him?  Yummy.  If you can conceive it, you can use it in play.  Anything that conducts electricity can be made into a violet wand toy....pointers, and metal pics and mylar floggers and ball chains and kitchen forks and vampire gloves random light bulbs from your utility room, and and and...you are limited only by your imaginination.

Ohhhhh and lets not forget the fire play fi8ends *ME ME ME* !!!! How cool is it to light up someone with a violet wand??? VERY COOL.  It only takes a swab of alcohol to the skin or a very tiny piece of flash cotton and a violet wand to start a fire!!!! 

There is a whole Guild dedicated to violet wands and I would venture to guess if you google "violet wand guild" you'll find more cool ideas than even I can conceive.

to be honest?? hate them! they feel like bugs crawling over my skin. cant stand it. just find it really annoying more than anything else. though i do enjoy using them. just hate having them used on me HAHA.

I do like the violet wand I have tried a few attachments and it sends me wild and I can go into sub space.  The same with a tens Unit

I love my wand and its electrodes ( I have 20 or so). I have very large hands and have over time broken 1 or 2 electrodes when getting a spark back and then throwing the wand through surprise.

To counter the problem of fiddling in the original case for an electrode, all my electrodes are now wall mounted enabling me to switch electrodes mid scene with little effort.

I prefer Secondary Contact play and the contact pad from http://trusseduk.com/IToys.html is the best I have seen. I usually don a pair of latex gloves and then use various floggers and canes, knives, swords and other metal things to create sensations. You can of course do so without the gloves and "spark" from your own flesh if that floats your boat or lights your bulb.

I had a domme use one my me...I have to say it wasn't what I was hoping...course I couldn't really get into sub-space with her because she kept talking...so that could be part of it. But I found the sensation more irritating than exciting...I was blindfolded and everytime I was getting into the scene and she zapped me with it, it just distracted me and I got very agitated. I used my safe word and had her stop.

Then we went on to the flogging...Ahhh then all was well in the world!! LOL!!! [:D]

well.. I have had a violet wand used on me. I was worried at first but I agree with most people it is more scary looking then it is scary feeling. I thought the tens unit was a better investment then the wand which is why we don't own the violet wand. My word of advice is take everything metal off the body of the person you are using it on cause it will def burn the crapola out of you.. my other advice. dunno how a friend of mine did it. But they held the wand somehow so their own body conducted the electricity and used it for electrifying sex. Its been awhile and I don't have enough experience with one to tell you how it was done. It looked really interesting.
I have heard of them used for brandings but of course I was in my own world at the dungeon when that was going on

ok,i am curious here, i never really thought about electro play but this sounds like alot of fun and i am sure that my Daddy being a sadist would really get a kick out of it, and i am a masochist. So we'll have to save up for one, by the way how much are the little bugger's anyway. It would make a nice Christmas present for Daddy.

Electrical Play can be Great,,, yet as  each person there own individual needs, limits, fears, and paths to their  goals, we  all muat  repsect the  tools that are used to attain the partners path of enlightenment.

I have used  the TENS Unit in great   fun and  results, yet if the sub does not  enjoy it or  does not  work for  her then other   devices the  do are  used. As Sincity stated, of a person sontinuly talking annd interupting  the path to sub space.,,,, we  work together as a  team to attain our  goals, a  fine  balance in this  lifestyle.  I am secure, creative, recourcfull  enough in my being to to use what my subs  enjoy , yet  allways pushing limits in spontanous fun to enjoy this lifestyle. well , enough said,, ENJOY  ,,,MAX
