quote:
How did you learn to be who you are? Trial and error or did you have a mentor? I'd argue everyone had a mentor. Originally my 'mentor' was me. I read everything I could on the subject. As a youth I remember going to public libraries to read about the Marquis de Sade, the Spanish Inquisition, and medieval torture. In the pre-internet era the only source was porn shops and videos. I read all I could on the subject, found out that there were clubs and bars where people in the people met and went there. Eventually I made friends and contacts who you could say were mentors. Although they were mostly skill trainers we often talked about lifestyle psychology and philosophy.
