Peculiar Displaced Testicle Pain - 8/22/2006 2:12:41 PM

Status: offline 		She struck my my balls with a very light mini-flogger. One blow that I guess landed deadon a testicle produced an awful pain. But not where the blow landed. The hurt seem to come from the outside lower abdominal area.

Some sort of redirected pain the like of which I've never felt before. I'm fine now, it hurt for only a couple of minutes.

I'm just  hoping that someone might know enough about the relevant physiology to help me understand what happened that night.

Status: offline 		ok maybe this will help often very intense pain will make me throw up and upset my stomach... its the way our body responds... one time i was hit with the Sjambok and I threw up was sooo embaressing!!!!! but man I felt so sick

Status: offline 		I am no medical expert but I have a few family and friends that are nurses I have asked regarding this odd little phenomenon. It has been explained to me that it has to do with nerves. Example.........I had a mosquito bite on the back of my thigh I was itching and got a bit carried away with a nail that was sharper than I realized, imediately felt a sharp pain in my mid back. It was weird because the scratch on the leg hurt less than the needle sharp pain in my back.

Status: offline 		Every guy I know who has ever been stuck or kicked or hit in the balls has always reacted by clutching their stomach, rather than their balls.  They've told me that the pain actually is felt in the stomach, not so much in the balls themselves.  I agree that it's most likely something to do with the nerves and the way they're wired.

Status: offline 		It's called "referred pain"  when the pain shows up in a place other than the injury...maybe that's part of it.

Status: offline 		The testicles are normally hanging inside the scrotum (sac), but there are a series of structures that connect the testicles with the rest of the body: arteries and veins (for blood supply), vas deferens (tubes that carry the spermatozoids to the seminal vesicle -which is next to the prostate- to form and store the semen), and nerves.  As they enter the body -right at the groin-, all these structures are surrounded by a series of muscles that form some sort of tubular passages. (one for each testicle) These are the passages through where the testicles normally descend during or right after birth, and the passage through where the intestine comes out of the body and inside the sac when there is a hernia.  Because these passages are made of muscles, anything that produces pain (even if one is able to somewhat tolerate it) makes them contract, squeezing the nerves, hence the pain that one feels inside the body when somebody or something hits your balls.
