Perhaps it isn't your daunting intellect that is frightening them away but the sheer boredom offered by the rare opportunity to chat with you.

RavenMuse -> RE: Are doms threatnend to talk to someone that speaks their mind? (8/29/2006 1:24:38 AM)

I talk.... thats what I use THIS side for, I also talk to many I've met on THIS side

The OTHER side, given I am seeking a second girl, I have My settings organised to that end. Someone seeking 'just friends', then I ain't going to see them. Also, as I say, I already chat to quite a number of folks on here and there is only so many hours in the day. What do you expect, folks to talk to EVERYONE on her who ticks 'activly seeking friends'?

It isn't lack of daring, it is prioritys. My real life comes before taking time to speak to someone new as 'just a friend on the net', I don't go out of My way on here to do so... I do that at Munches and events.

The majority on the other side ARE looking for something specific, they ain't going to notice you. The onus is on YOU, find someone interesting then YOU are going to have to actualy make an effort rather than just whine about lack of contact!

That asside, next time you 'get your ass to London' give Me a shout. I much prefer chatting in the REAL WORLD [:)] Though I missed both yourself and dark at Kinkfest! C'est la vie

How about you talk to them rather than expecting them to talk to you?

Their filters for the list of people on the site are probably not set to Iceland.  I know mine is set to default to Australia, though I do say hello to people who appear on the forums when they write something interesting.

The likelyhood I'd randomly pick someone from Iceland is small.  Sorry, but I consider it rude to not spend time reading their profile, their likes and dislikes and at least some of their journal, before I even put fingers to keyboard.

Most chatrooms I've been to have a troll pop in and disrupt the conversation or are full of people who know each other, so they are not always the best places to meet people for chats.

The great majority of doms seeking online are dorks...

What's wrong with being a dork?  Not all of us are born at The Gap.

givemyall -> RE: Are doms threatnend to talk to someone that speaks their mind? (8/29/2006 4:50:32 AM)

In answer to the original question 'Are doms threatend to talk to someone that speaks their mind?' - I dont think they are.

My profile is a little wacky and im very outspoken in my journals but I tend to get a fair few messages complimenting me for speaking out.  I've had the odd message saying that im not sub enough or someone having a moan about what I have written, but they are generally from people picking a fight, so they become journal fodder themselves...more fool them [:D]

I think most people like to be involved with someone that can stimulate them mentally (aswell as physically) - otherwise wouldnt it become a little boring?

I must admit that I wasn't overly impressed with the kinkfest venue. The music and lighting in the main areas with seating definatly where not condusive to meeting new folks or chatting. If you get into London at some point then you'll have to drop Me a note and we'll sort something. I'm a regular at LAM and that IS a good place for meeting people.

I am going to make it to LAM (definately) and LFF in the few of months I hope - it is just arranging times that all meld - I will contact you when I have a firm date.
As for KF... I know they had huge problems with the local council at the last minute - but you are right, the munch area wasn't the easiest of places to meet and chat... it was a bit too dark, noisy and spread out.  Lets hope they take notes for next years.

CreativeDominant -> RE: Are doms threatnend to talk to someone that speaks their mind? (8/29/2006 7:29:40 AM)

Understand that part of it might be time and access also.  For business reasons, I do not have Internet at my office and for personal reasons, I do not have it at home.  Therefore, my only time to have access is early in the morning, at lunch, and for some time in the evening.  There may be others whose situation is the same.

I love conversing with others and I correspond with several people from Colorado that I have met at various venues in Denver.  Due to my time limits, I limit the number of people I correspond with so that I am not sending general answers to everyone but rather, understand and am engaged with their interests and mine.

I wish you luck...keep at it and I am sure you will find those who have no problem just conversing with someone.
