being a mommy every step of the way-right up to now at 17 & 19
morning meditation on my chaise by the picture window with coffee in hand, my journal on my lap and wild birds at the feeder
any combination of chocolate and peanut butter!
the wind and sun on my face as i ride my motorcycle
the moment my Sir said He wants to place a collar on me

My most recent joy is settling into my new abode after moving yesterday, even though there are a zillion boxes to unpack, bunkbeds to put together, and cleaning up the old place tomorrow.  The fresh paint, the brand new carpet, the empty walls just waiting for pictures and photos to be hung...  [:)]

My Master being there to move me and my little family into the new place and tolerating me "losing it" when the stress of it all just became a bit too much on two occasions.  He helped me refocus and get my head back where it needed to be, then held my hand as we walked back to the moving truck.

Dancing with Master at the gas station while we filled the tank back up before turning the moving truck back in.  [:)]

My beloved father who, at 81, never ceases to amaze me.

My two unmentionables, esp. watching the littlest one move her body weight 100 times over because she just wanted to help.

I am blessed.  Thank You, God.

(Hi to all of my CM buddies...  I have missed you guys during the move prep, shall be back more often as things settle.)

10 joys of life...
  1. My fabulous husband and two amazing kids
  2. My Sir, who loves and challenges me in ways I didn't think possible
  3. Down comforters on windy snowy nights
  4. A quiet afternoon on Lake Michigan, sails open, breeze in my hair
  5. An evening of live jazz with good friends and a cold beer
  6. Fireworks.  The pretty kind.
  7. Watching my daughter ride a two-wheeler for the first time
  8. Lighted Christmas trees
  9. Fresh sheets on the bed -- 600 thread ct., of course
  10. Hearing "I love you Mommy"
Thank you for starting such a positive thread - will have this smile on my face all day.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: List of joys in life-- add yours! (8/30/2006 9:08:48 PM)

Hearing a casual "I love you" at the end of a phone conversation that sounded as natural being said as if it always belonged there.

Trying on a bikini for the first time in almost a decade and having someone outside the fitting room say "damn!"

Walking into a casino with $50 and walking back out with a grand.

My friend James' cats, who are hell bent on proving him a liar by becoming lapcats when I am around.  but only for me, it seems.

My dog, who at 14 yrs old hasnt figured out that he cant play fetch with the puppies in the dogpark yet.

The ability to talk to several friends all at the same time on yahoo, since I would never see half of them otherwise.

2 hours of alone time, a jacuzzi, a book,  hot coffee with irish cream and some soft music.

Life is defiantely good.

hmm...there are a couple things that i really enjoy..

pulling on a warm sweater on a cold day..especially one that someone i love warmed up for me..*^_^*

drinking hot tea in bed when it's raining

taking a "sick" day to play and lounge about the house

the feeling after you've just finished cleaning and dusting your home

falling asleep without tossing or turning

realizing in the morning that it's saturday and that you dont have to go to work *^_^*

ohh..and so many others..just about anything that makes me feel warm or privileged..

<She's blue-eyed and beautiful>.

The ocean also brings me joy.  It captivates me to stand on the beach and just look out at the vastness of the water.  The sound of the waves.  This huge seemingly endless body of water.  Being in the ocean or on the beach is nothing short of spiritual for me.  Every time Im down the shore, its like its the first time Ive ever seen the ocean. I cant explain it.  When Im looking out onto the water, its like the entire rest of the world is non existant.  Its like being lost in a vaccuum.  Ive never understood why it does that to me, it just does.  The ocean actually  moves me to tears, just to look at it,  without fail...all the time.

There's alot of things that are a joy.... Probably # 1 would be that I'm now able to work from the home sitting on my ass instead of going out in the crappy cold weather and busting my ass and kissing some boss's ass.....

sleazybutterfly -> RE: List of joys in life-- add yours! (9/1/2006 9:07:07 AM)

My animals, they give me so much joy and laughter.

My friends, even though I could smack'em once in a while.

A fall day walking outside, the sound of the leaves beneath my feet, with a yummy sweater on and a bit of breeze thru my hair.

Sitting down on a Sunday night, lights out, with lots of candles and a bowl of popcorn.. listening to the radio theatre show that's on.

A gooey smore' right out of the campfire.

Talking to a certain someone on the phone, or anywhere else.

Sitting down with a very good book, and a wonderful cup of coffee.

 A touch of snow on Christmas morning.

There are more, I am sure.. and will probably add as they come into my head.

Very good thread, Andrea

G'evening all:

The greatest joy I get? Seeing my boy's eyes light up, soften with love, watch him get all warm and fuzzy. When those chocolate baby browns glow like that? My heart just skips a beat...

Stay safe, play nice, & share your toys w/ others...

the first snowfall...

an autumn evening...

having one of my second graders take ahold of my hand when we're walking down the hall at school...

Christmas...everything about it...

a good book, my iPod, and the porch swing in the early summer evenings...

childhood memories.

My joys are:

My family and friends.
Having a house to live in, the bills paid, and a good job.
To give a beautiful woman a big smile and she gives me a bigger one in return.

*  Knowing if my son is okay…
*  Being held by someone who adores me
*  Bending some body part and feeling some welt pull a bit
*  Clean sheets still crisp off the line
*  Cool mornings
*  Really good coffee (I make my own lattes)
*  Making and enjoying a meal with friends who like to cook
*  Dangling my feet on a hot summer day in my Koi Pond
        (I’m gonna build another one, dammit!)

*  Single cask bourbon (or Scotch)
*  Homemade ale (I won a ribbon, once…)
*  Moving around in my new, almost finished kitchen
        and realizing there IS room to move around in it!

*  Listening to an expert violinist or pianist’s CD…or maybe
        YoYo Ma while I read, or maybe Blue Grass while
         I clean house or New Age if it’s not too saccharin…
        or perhaps some new World Music I’ve not heard yet.
        Hell… good music!

*  Warm Crème Brule
*  Interesting sauces over homemade ravioli
*  Big, well-aged Red wine
*  Picnics with other foodies!
*  My big ol' goofy dog who absolutely insists I pet him
       the entire time I'm trying to 'work' here on my computer.

*  A well-written book

edited because I can't make the bullets work right!!!
