Has anyone here ever heard of a  Yuk-a-Flucz - a well known canadian party drink.

there is only one way to properly eat fruit.  Go to your local hardware store and purchase the largest garbage can you can.  Thake home scrub clean. let dry in sun.  Line wit TWO oversized garbage bags.  Find all the fruit you want, but into large bite pieces - leave the rinds on for grip.

While you are on fruit patrol, send your significant other to the liqour store and tell hum to buy one of everything.

Wait  - might do that.  Try this: rum, rye, vodka, tequila, gim - get lets - it can be used later!

Have slave bring booze home - checking that no bottle was tampered with.  Empty all bottles into the bag of fruit, cover, let ferment for 24 hours and then

PARTY IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sitting here eating a California peach marveling at the flavor and texture of it and thinking about how much I love late summer and the bounty of the different fruits that are at their peak right now. I love them all, but I think peaches are my favorite... what is yours?

Pineapples, hands down is my favorite fruit.  I also like sprinking a little bit of sugar/splenda with lime zest on the pineapple and grilling it.  A close second would be fresh strawberries, especially with some greek yogurt (with a little bit of splenda mixed in).

Its not so much a summertime fruit exclusively, but I also love dried figs (specifically dried mission figs) in reduced red wine with a little bit of sugar/honey and lemon peel on top of greek yogurt as well.

C~

Edited to add: I also love bananas.

I have trouble thinking of a fruit I do not like.

Strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, banana, pineapple, peaches, honey melon, lychee, grapes, cherries.
Best as a fresh fruit platter with greek yoghurt to dip.

I grew up in upstate NY, we grow EVERYTHING.......I SOOOOOO miss the produce....the farmer's stands on the side of the road.......I'd kill for a NY apple......red delicious......right off the tree......tomatoes fresh off the vine, still warm from the sun.....peaches, pears, plums, cherries, strawberries, grapes, watermelon......they don't grow a thing here in AZ, all the fruit is shipped in half-ripe from other places.....it sucks!  But at least the banans are green...i love them that way, just barely ripe, and refrigerated...i keep all my fruit in the fridge!

I love them all.  Right now in the fridge we have a watermelon getting cold, a cantaloupe all cut up, strawberries i just cleaned and prepared, fresh peaches, some fresh pears, and some navel oranges.  Hubby will be making a peach pie with some of the peaches tomorrow, the rest is for us and the grand UM's to enjoy.  I love the summer!

Holy cow!  Is it ok if I come over and raid your fridge?

The things I love most are big, red, fresh, juicy strawberries and I recently developed an insatiable taste for nice, sweet oranges and pineapple!!

Oh love the wild huckleberries. My family had a cabin not far from CleElum and we spent a lot of time picking the huckleberries, but i think it's a little early for them.

I am going to go berry hunting with the kids when we go camping this weekend. They cant believe i have lived my entire life without once going out and finding them myself and not buying them.
I am told I am in for a treat.

Fresh mulberries picked the day before they are ripe enough to fall off the tree, the only thing that makes them sweeter is feeding them to a beautiful woman.

yes, it is indeed too early for the berries, but if the weather stays cool this month, there's a chance there will be berries for me to pick in a couple of months...our cabins were at Salmon La Sac, on the Cooper River, btw...

Come on over, smiles.  Last week there were blueberries, blackberries and raspberries too.  This time of year there are ALWAYS strawberries, and as the season goes on local cantaloupes and watermelons, as all three are grown locally.  I may get up the gumption to go in the country and hunt blackberries instead of buying them in the store this year!

I love all of them.  If I absolutely had to pick it would be blackberries, raspberries and strawberries.  I love all the summer vegetables, too, especially zucchini and summer squash.
