raleighncpuppies -> Erostek or Rimba??? (9/10/2006 3:39:01 PM)

So I would like to pick up an e-stim unit - and I have narrowed it down to the Rimba and te Erostek:

Rimba Deluxe is 2 channel, 7 levels, 16 intensities, time display and auto feature for around $130.

Erostek ET-232 is 2 channel, 15 modes, and has audio processng and runs about $350.

Now here's the challenge - the attachments are dang expensive for these things - so I am tempted to buy the Rimba which leaves room for some insertables - but I don't want to make a mistake and buy the wrong unit.

Thoughts/opinions?  And what are MUST HAVE accessories (with links if possible please?)

Irishm57 -> RE: Erostek or Rimba??? (9/14/2006 3:12:11 PM)

I have 2 tens units, one is a Rimba and the other is an Erostek 302r. The rinba is the other model they make, not the digital one you mention. But On the attachemnts i could probably give you a few hints.
I looked at the Rimba you mentioned on the stockroom.com website. The Rimba i have uses a subminiature connector. So i would assume the Rimba digital does also.The Rimba digital doesn't seem to come with a wire set like the other Rimba does.

The Erostek uses a 1/8 inch standard connector, which has it's pluses. Since you don't seem to mention the desire to get a remote control type unit, getting an extension cable so you can have the unit , let's say 10 or 20 feet from the subject, is easily available at Radio shack. To do the same thing with the Rimba you would have to get the same chord, but also spend 10 to 20 bucks for adapters at one or both ends.

You will probably notice there is no standard connector for tens units and attachments. Some are banana plugs, some pin plugs, some sub minaiture , some 1/4 inch.. it's a pita. So if you order an attachment, make sure you have the right connector adapters , if not order them at the same time, or you would have an expensive attachemnt with no way to use it until you order the adapaters .

If you can use a soldering iron , you can make some attachments yourself. Like go to radio shack, get some 1/8 connectors, small roll of 2 conductor 20 guage wire, and a few alligator clips. This also can be a cost savings. I personally think those Pads they seel for tens units are a waste the glue on them is useless after one or 2 uses. And at 15 bucks or so for 4 pads. it adds up. So with the above alligator clip thing, just go to home depot and get some smalls pieces of copper in the roofing section , costs like 3 bucks for a 6 inch square, cut it up into 1 inch squares, you end up with lots of little contacts you can adhere on with medical tape and just hook one of the alligator clips to each one. it also gives a larger contact area on the body.

for purchased attachents, i have a few. first one i bought was the rimba anal one
http://www.stockroom.com/Dual-Contact-Electro-Ridged-Anal-Dildo-P1626.aspx
One thing with this you nned a harness or strap to keep it in, since the tens makes the anal muscles contract and expand, it will shoot out like a rocket  if you don't strap it in.. lol
I then bought both sizes of this anal plug, the BiPolar ones, large and small and they stay in nicely with no buttplug harness
http://www.sextek.com/products/bipolars.html   I haven't used the Rimba plug since i bought these.

One last thing, if it is for use on a male, the cock attachments need thought. i first bought a Rimba cock attachment it was similar to this , but 3 years ago, the strap between the rear and front was 4 inches, so if the penis when soft is less than that, it pulls out all the time http://www.stockroom.com/Dual-Contact-Electro-Penis-Strap-P1627.aspx
The new one from rimba appears to have a shorter spacer strap.

I ended up making this from copper parts at home depot , and wireparts from radio shack
http://www.slavechris.com/coppercb/cbcopper.html  and this spreads the shock all over the entire area, not just the 4 or 5 points the straps do.

So to sum it up, i think pads , a set of alligtor clips , and an anal plug, are the must have for either sex it is used on.
This is only my personal opinion,
Chris
ps: on the Sextek site they say the model 232 , the one you are looking at, will be future ErosLink compatibility. 3 years ago when i bought the 302R , ErosTek said then that 302r would have eroslink by year end. then at year end they said early next year, then it changed to end of that year, and then just became "future" , So 3 years laters there is no eroslink software for the 302r, so don't get your hopes up on that part...

Also or those that like to make things, or want to make attachments,, there also is a low cost anal or vaginal tens attachment you can make .
first you need a something like the alligaotr clip cable i described , then go to home depot, to the plumbing section. There you should find what they call a copper wall stub, i think they only come in 1/2 inch diameter and 8 inches long. then get an end cap. The wall stub has a round closd end ,which is good for inserting. With a propane torch solder the endcap on the other end of the stub . let cool to room temp lol..Wall stub and end cap cost is probably around 10 bucks, and they also sell end caps with solder in them, just heat.

then connect one lead to the the copper wall stub, connect the other wire of that lead to a a pad or alligator clip to the skin near the anal or vaginal area. insert the wall stub into either the anal or vaginal cavity and enjoy.
here is a picture of a copper wall stub

Ignore the holes in the side of that one, it is from my copper cage i made. It is the locking pin for putting a paddle lock through

I love the Rimba I have it was bought at www.extremerestraints.com it has a few different attachments.

Must haves are something for the butt and I absolutely just get a kick out of the bands that go on the penis.Talk about a squirming worm....LOL

Hotch -> RE: Erostek or Rimba??? (9/14/2006 7:54:48 PM)

I have an older Erostek and love it.  As far as attachments, you can make a lot of your own stuff.  I've converted several speculums and sounds.  I've also made nipple clamps, a nail board, and a clit suction device that all work with the unit.   The only things I've bought for it are the stim pads and insertable anal probes.

hehe... I'm just waiting for someone to sound the alarm about the nipple clamps.

The Rimba accessories also leave a bit to be desired.  Their straps, testicle chute and breast cups were all pretty pathetic.  The insertables seem to have better conductivity.

Yang4yin -> RE: Erostek or Rimba??? (9/15/2006 10:14:36 AM)

I don't own it, but here's something worth looking at:
http://www.healthyandactive.com/fp900.html

"It's a bigger bang for the buck. It boasts an easy-to-read, well laid out display and a wide variety of features: 6 channels, which means you can stimulate several body parts at the same time, main frequency control knob for all channels as well as controls for individual channels, a 30 minute off-timer, 6 pairs of electro pads, 6 pairs of lead wires, 12 electro steel clamps, portability (uses 6 C batteries -- not included), an AC/DC adapter jack (adapter not included) and instruction manual." Sale price: $159.95

Wow -thanks all for the response!  I willmost likely go with the Rimba as the cost is so much more palatable...

Anyone know the turn-around-time from extremerestraints.com?

Irishm57 -> RE: Erostek or Rimba??? (9/16/2006 12:33:46 PM)

I am not sure on extremerestraints turn around, i got burned once by them and won't deal with them again. I ordered an item they claimed to have in stock, paid 30 plus bucks to get it shipped over night. it showed up a week and a half later via ups ground and wasn't even what i ordered. and to get it resolved i had to pay to ship it back, and never got a refund on the overnight shipping i paid for.So it cost me 45 bucks in shipping alone.  so call them and ask, but make sure you find out on what is covered if not right , or defective.

if you call the stockroom.com and they have it in stock , items almost always ship the same day. i have spent 2 or 3 g's with them and always satisfied with workmanship and responce.

Termyn8or -> RE: Erostek or Rimba??? (9/21/2006 8:07:22 PM)

I am surprised nobody has mentioned PES. I don't have any of their stuff, but I want some. I think their website is pes.com .

Whatever boxes they use, their electrodes are gnarly to say the least. One that I am going to get is the penile electrode with urethral amplifier, which means part of the electrode goes into the pee hole. The other is an anal elctrode, designed specifically for people who don't take it that way. It is tubular, and in a loop. The instructions say that you should insert it almost fully and then pull part of it out from the front, then push it back in. This results in the maximum stimulation to the prostrate.

That set of electrodes is not cheap, but they look worth it. They also say you need to use their lube on it, not the regular lind, but they probably all say that. They say regular lube(s) can damage the material used in the electrodes though. Can't blame them for creating a need and filling it though, that is a business success, but I'm sure something can be found to replace this special lube if need be.

Checkum out.

Note : I am not affiliated with them in any way and have not yet bought anything from them so I can't comment on that. I think some of their products are very interesting, that's all I can say.
