I was making a second pot of coffee when one of my employees came in and told me to turn on the TV. I watched for a second, grabbed my 9 month old daughter, a diaper bag, and the phone and sat on the floor in shock in front of the TV for the rest of the day. That was the day my daughter took her first steps, 10 steps from me to the TV. We've been watching a lot of the memorial shows the last few days. I can watch it a thousand more times and still be saddened by the loss. Yes, it's been 5 years, and 5 years from now I think I will feel the same sadness when I remember this day, and not just on the anniversary. Thousands of people went to work and went about their lives just as innocently as we all do every single day and lost their lives, their spouses, their children, their parents, and their families. Hundreds lost their lives saving and attempting to save the lives of others. It's certainly not meaningless.
