Depends on the sense. The past tense of "hang" in the sense of "hang something from a hook," "hang a coat on a rack," and so on in, is "hung." The past tense of "hang" in the sense of "execute someone by hanging him or her with a noose around the neck" is "hanged." It's never correct to use "hung" where you should have "hanged," or "hanged" where you should have "hung." They're not interchangeable. quote:
