INSIDEYOURMIND -> Globalization? (1/12/2005 9:01:51 PM)

Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer: Princess Diana's death.

Question: How come?

Answer: An English princess

with an Egyptian boyfriend

crashes in a French tunnel,

driving a German car

with a Dutch engine,

driven by a Belgian who was drunk

on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling)

followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,

on Japanese motorcycles;

treated by an American doctor,

using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent to you by an American,

using Bill Gates's technology,

and you're probably reading this on your computer,

that use Taiwanese chips,

and a Korean monitor,

assembled by Bangladeshi workers

in a Singapore plant,

transported by Indian lorry-drivers,

hijacked by Indonesians,

unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,

and trucked to you by Mexicans.

That, my friends, is Globalization

This was one of the first posts I read when I signed up here. I laughed a little, then moved on. Two days later one of my professors put it up in class puts this up on the overhead. After checking this out, the poster and professor are obviously not the same people. Which is good as I nearly lost my lunch at the idea of my prof in leather or somthing.

The Lady Di thing though, isnt it strange how i cant remember what i was doing 2 days ago, but i can remember exactly what i was doing when the news of her death broke!

Whatever globalization occurs, I will never pay a WORLD TAX. I think our national taxes do enough.
