I need to get healthy; I'm a junk food junky and my cholesterol shows it! I'm going to exercise more and stay away from fast food.

I think most of us would agree, we need to lose weight. I've never been on a diet in my life. Hopefully I never will be on one. Do I have fat to lose? Sure.
Although, generally I just try to do enough cardio. I get a little paranoid when it comes to strength training. I can pack on weight like nothing. I definately put on muscle quite easily. Can't seem to ever get fat off though.

Although, after looking into it thus far this year. I've found I really don't have a metabolism to speak of. So, at least I have a reason why now.

Anyway, Mod One is BIG into atkins. We had a thread here a while back. That went on for pages literally. So, I'd do a search for Atkins. Although, recent studies that come out say it isn't all its cracked up to be. Also something like 90% gain all the weight back within a year.

So, figure out what works for you then do that.
Good Luck, I think we all need luck.

One would think that would work. I have excellent willpower. My issue is not willpower. It is eating period. Being ex-military. I did not leave the service without certain more permanent type of scars. My food does not properly digest the way a normal person's does. Which leaves me not hungry sometimes for days on end. If you don't eat enough, your metabolism slows. Which is making mine almost non existant. I have to literally force myself to eat on many occassions. When I get busy, I don't remember to eat...
Maybe hypnosis will work? Not a clue.

Anyway, I have read mucho on diets and exercise. Don't take away absolutely everything you crave just eat in in moderation. Drink lots of water. Exercise. Also, don't forget my main problem. Not eating enough. You're supposed to eat something like 6 small meals a day so your stomach is never empty. That way your body doesn't hold onto all food it has.
Just eat smaller quantities.

I have lost 38 lbs on the South Beach plan and Hubby has lost 50. Feel free to email me if you want more information. I think that South Beach is very healthy and easy to follow. It's a way of life for us now. Here's the thread from last year which started about Atkins but also has information on other aspects of dieting:

Weight issues are totally opposite for me. If anything, i need to gain weight. Keeping weight on is a struggle and has been my entire life (please don't message me or reply with methods for gaining weight ... i've tried them all). i've never been larger than a size two and have to fight to achieve staying above 100 lbs, rather than dropping down to my lowest average wieght of 95 lbs. The weight issues are not due to health issues. i am petite, fine boned, and a light weight by nature, am not anorexic, nor bulimic etc. i have never dieted in my life, other than attempts made to follow a diet of an increased calory intake.

i do eat ALOT ... most times. In reading other submissives/slaves profiles and journals it seems many Master's have their subs/slaves on weight loss diets and/or monitor their food intake. INSIDEYOURMIND tends to do just that with me, but for the opposite reasons. Sometimes i do not eat as often as i need to, and He gets on me about it when needed. i just returned home from working tonight, & didn't have time to eat dinner at work. He just placed a sandwiche for me on the desk. Not a word spoken by either of us, none needed. i ate it just the same even though i am not even hungry at all ... and because i know His wanting me to eat the sandwiche was not a 'request' and had i not eaten it He would not be pleased.

Only 2% of the population struggle to GAIN weight and are not underweight due to health issues. The grass is always greener and at least over weight people are the majority and can confide in others who share the same issue. [;)]

There are weight loss support groups all over the internet. I belong to the South Beach one on aol, and have made a lot of good friends there. Everyone is very helpful and understanding.

I used Atkins message board all the time last year, it was great and free.

I am sure there are other boards as well, I know Weight Watchers has one.

Nella, you can email me anytime you want someone to cheer you on. Good Luck.

Me, me, me!!!! Has anyone here ever tried Billy Banks' Tae Bo? It's great! I've just started it a bit. After about a week, I feel so much better. Of course, it hasn't been long enough to lose that much weight as of yet. I'd definately recommend it. I do it with my "rugrats" (to avoid an unmentionable). They absolutely love it. It does require a lot of movement. So, those of you who have some health issues, might want to take it easy at first.

i love Tae Bo! i cannot do 100% of it (terrible balance) but i have a blast doing it. One thing i like is that it is done in the format of an exercise class, and not everyone in the class is thin/particularly good at Tae Bo.

Billy really motivates you and tells you that you can do it the whole time, some people might find him cheesy but i like it a lot.

Someone posted a 419 scam and the mods deleted it.

Nothing to see here, move along!
