Lily,

You can "break up" quotes one of a few ways. The first and easiest is highlight the text that you want to quote and then hit reply. The highlighted text will aoutomatically be between quote tags. The second way I know of how to do this is to hit the quote button on your reply box and copy and paste the text you want to quote between the quote tags.
[ .quote. ] The text should be pasted here [. /quote .]

I put periods in there just so the tags would show up. When you do it for real, there won't be periods in the tag. Hope this helps.

My, what a fiesty bunch! Even the submissive Norwegian who was explicitly excused takes me to task. Meget trist om at men mine kommentarer ikke dirigerte på De. Beautiful language, isn't it? Seriously though, I feel like Ali G at a southern rodeo. All the good spellers show up, find my planted mistakes, and hang me out to dry (with perfect grammar too, I noticed), while the language murderers remain conspicuously absent... let's hope they're out buying dictionaries. Mrs Dreadfire and Washigtonsub, we're talking about you again! Kudos to Jules, the only person who got it. A dominant with a sense of humor is a rare and beautiful thing. And those melons don't hurt either! But seriously, you have to love a place where criticism is synonymous with misogyny. Lox and cream cheese - yuck. Now I'm an anti-semite. You folks are alright. I'm just having some fun with you.

Hrm...ok. Here's the thing that's totally bugging me. I checked your profile, and it says you signed up the same day you started this thread. If that's true, then how do you know who's a bad speller, bad grammer, etc?

Who the hell are you? ~grin~

Criticism isn't misogynistic. There is a vast difference between constructive criticism and the rant upon which you embarked. I could point out the instances in your diatribe to you, but I don't believe in giving away free therapy. Suffice to say, you need to look at yourself in a clearer mirror if you don't feel you showed any misogyny in your posts. It always makes me a trifle sad when someone who seems educated has so poor a sense of their own motivations.

I suspect this comment was for me. If you would be so kind as to privately mail me as to how to break up a quote, I'd be very greatful.

You can get a partial quote by highlighting the part you want then click quote in the upper right corner of the post.

Melons?!

how can you as a submissive amle, show such disrespect for the female form?

"knockers' is so much more respectful.

I prefer "jugs."
When someone tells me I have nice jugs, my reflex response is to get on my back, put my legs straight up in the air, and spread them.

I posted something similar a while back, omitting the claim that it was a study by any specific university or organisation and instead saying "I read somewhere that." It was a fun thread but one of our posters, whose contributions I always found valuable, was simply in tears admitting that she was dyslexic and mortified that she couldn't read it.

It did serve to pull me back into my truth, which is that while I also hate wading through something so poorly written that it hurts to read I also do not wish to alienate those who have genuine difficulties due to disabilities. These people can be some incredible contributors with a wealth of knowledge of things I can't understand because I have not walked their path.

I suspect, however, that I am in agreement with much of what the original poster was referring to (or perhaps who he was referring to). Even now, knowing he was pulling chains, I can say that I wasn't crazy about his delivery.

Don't forget "while wearing stilleto heels that are so high they could ONLY have been meant to be used to have the soles staring at the ceiling"!

BlackGoddess2u -> RE: I submit myself to proper grammar (1/14/2005 9:18:20 AM)

Just a thought: Good spelling is not tied to good ideas. In other words, one does not have to spell correctly in order to get his/her ideas across.

This was hilarious! It must have taken you a long time to mispell all those words. Thanks!

And Jules you are a celebrity! How could a Goddess not be?
