Okay, sense I'm a firm believer in the Hundredth Monkey thang...and the power of positive thinking thang...I thought I'd let you good people know I'm off to the surgeon's this afternoon, hopefully for some minor surgery.  I found a lump under my arm...I'm guessing lymph node...and hope he removes it today and that's the end of that.  I'm well-aware 99% of these turn out benign; that's what I have my mind set on, too.

Anyway...positive thoughts are always good, right!

Thanks,
beverly

I hope everything goes well. It sounds like you have a lot of different ideas going around in your head at once, which is totally normal. I hope that the physician can present you with some clear information on what your particular lump may be and what kind of intervention he recommends.
Consider yourself prayed-for in the meantime.
Namaste.

Awwwwwww... thanks Katy!  All is well!  It turned out not to be anything serious at all; it's a gland thing not a cancer thing!  LOL  Sure do with the first doc woulda figured that out; would have saved me a BUNCH of worry!

Thank you all!  I appreciate your thoughts...

In a case like this, it's always better to know for sure.

Actually, the Hundredth Monkey story is used as a model for social change…I was using it as an example of the power of thought…

In Japan a group of 100 monkeys was studied for some 30 years.  In 1952, a group on an island, were being fed sweet potatoes, that they liked…but not the dirty skins.  One learned to wash hers…and soon others copied.  It became a learned activity and soon all 100 monkeys were washing their potatoes before eating.  But, then, just as the 100th monkey picked up the new trick… all of a sudden monkeys on other islands and the mainland were washing their potatoes, too.

What the scientists believed was, when a certain critical number achieves an awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind; and becomes a part of the collective consciousness.
