Tickling is much misunderstood. Those who note that the laughter is a nerve reaction and not amusement are correct. It is actually usually painful (the poking kind). It is a HARD limit for me, a dealbreaker and results in extremely violent, blind fury from me. Like some others here, I have childhood stuff. I associate it with being made to feel pain, being made a fool of, then being told I was too sensitive. It is something done by bullies who then want to blame their victims as having something wrong with them or "no sense of humor." When done to someone who does not consent, it is a form of so-called humor *at another's expense* and the worst form of disrespect for limits, all often sanctioned because it is supposedly "no big deal."

Noting this thread has gone dead and been resurrected 2-3 times now...I still think people need to be educated.

I come from a completely different place with tickling. I was not ticklish in the least as a child and thought other kids were being silly who were. It wasn't until about 2 years ago that I discovered I was ticklish.
Since then, I have been with two Masters who have exploited the ticklish thing and perhaps because it is still so new, I enjoy it at the same time that I hate it.

I think when tickled as a child, it just feels so....violating. And you can't help but laugh, so you become angry at yourself for laughing because you feel like your body and mind are betraying you. Then the adults don't believe you that you're really distressed...(in my case two big brothers), and they laugh and mock you and tell you how much you really love it. After awhile, your reaction is to just to go into a rage.

I think that turns into a person's normal reaction after awhile, and then it's carried into adulthood, without realizing why the rage comes about. It's traumatic because it brings you right back to that "child" frame of mind where you're not only out of control but intruded upon and violated and then not believed that you're upset because you're too busy laughing. It's confusing and traumatic.

Well...that's my theory anyway. I just thought of it now, so I could be wayyyy off!

Greetings,

I can totally see how that would be the case - the feels of rage stemming from something like you described. Then moving forward how that would take a person back to that state regardless of the adult intentions behind such an action.

For me, that trigger is the church pinch - tiny sharp pinch on the back of the upper arm. My brother used to do that to me and it is the one thing that will just immediately set me off.

Have to admit tickling is something i don't like at ALL. it just makes me antsy and agitated when i'm tickled.. To the point of getting angry even in some instances.
Nope.. i can't see tickling as an attraction for me.. *smiles*

To the OP: though not at all sub-inclined, I do switch for my own enjoyment. Absolutely tops on the list is tickling! (Well, sometimes fisting,)

i also hate being tickled, it aggrivates me to no end and starts to hurt in that bad way.

No I don't enjoy it. That's why its torture. I learned to turn off my natural ticklishness through sheer will power. For some reason that doesn't work with my Master.

soooooooo glad to see others don't enjoy tickling either! I have it listed as a hard limit on my profile, and I've gotten a lot of questions about it.
For me, tickling is related to an experience that brings no pleasure at all, and shuts me down emotionally. Gootchie-gootchie-goo? Hell no. HARD LIMIT.

I DESPISE being tickled! It is painful to me and my Master knows this.....I feel very thankful my Master does not tickle me. This doesn't mean he doesn't keep this up his sleeve as a hardcore punishment.

i am very ticleish just make sure im securly tied up as i will jump and squirm (watch for knees and elbows) i was tickled on a spanking bench with my legs not tied well. the bench ended up on the other side of the room.

I hate being tickled (though it can be fun when I can fight back), and my pumpkin just recently shared with me that he would like to get tickled (though not hard, he's a fragile boy), so I'll experiment what kind of tickle would be a reward, and what kind - a punishment.

For me its a bit different though with my headspace where it goes... If I'm being pinned down and tickled; I have absolutely no control at all and thats a big kink for me. I also love the positive energy, the laughter and fun of it all.
