I'm a bassist so my scene audio tends to run in slow, heavy beat, drum/bass electronica. Heavy Industrial sometimes works as well. However, as a primer I would offer Dub music. Varients include studio mixers such as Tino's Hallowe'en Dub namely Footstep Dub or Wicked Insane Evil Dub. Those two are fun. Scientist, Dub Syndicate rate as well. DubNitrous

Just to add a bit of what I've found: Spinal Tap - Bitch School Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb Leonard Cohen - he has a really great voice!
