"Woodward: Kissinger advises White House on Iraq" He said Kissinger, who served in the Nixon and Ford administrations, has been telling Bush and Cheney that "in Iraq, he declared very simply, 'Victory is the only meaningful exit strategy."' "This is so fascinating. Kissinger's fighting the Vietnam War again because, in his view, the problem in Vietnam was we lost our will." http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/09/29/books.woodward.ap/index.html?section=cnn_topstories ----- Kissinger owns a consulting firm, Kissinger Associates, and is a partner in Kissinger McLarty Associates with Mack McLarty, former Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton. He also serves on various boards of directors including Gulfstream Aerospace[12] and Hollinger International, a Chicago-based newspaper group[13]. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Kissinger ----- Kissinger Associates and its affiliate, Kissinger McLarty Associates, provide strategic advisory and advocacy services to a select group of U.S. and multinational companies. The firms provide high-level intervention regarding special projects, assist their clients to identify strategic partners and investment opportunities, and advise clients on government relations throughout the world. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Kissinger_Associates%2C_Inc. ----- Think about it. Draw the dotted lines in your imagination, run down their lengths. What does it tell you about this guy, the two political parties, and the significance of national borders in the era of the multinationals? This guy was in on the China deal back in the 70s - he brokered the deal! And some actually want you to believe that politics matters in the traditional sense of things. People, "politics as usual" simply will not do any longer. They wrap it up in Old Glory, tell you Jesus sent them, and then stab you in the back politically. Do you really even question that what I am describing is reality? This is about greed and undermining every value you hold dear for a few dollars more. Let me help you with the translation: "Victory is the only meaningful exit strategy." means "We aren't leaving without total fucking control of that oil!" They don't care about US or the U.S., they don't care if the war debt will break the backs of every taxpayer for the next millennium, they don't care if you or your children have jobs or healthcare or anything. They don't care if the U.S. slips into a banana republic - in fact, I believe they are doing some things intentionally to create that very effect. American ideology and free thought are dangerous to them a few moves out from the present time and situation. These people aren't concerned about strategies that help out the good old USofA - they are playing on a larger chessboard than that. Multinationals rule the day. They want what they want and they are taking it now - in advance, they lay claim to what is not theirs. The real issues at stake RIGHT NOW and in the next several years to come are these, and none of them is expendable if you want your kids to live anything like the life you led: * Universal healthcare - when you are worried about life/death it's very hard to concentrate * Foreign policy - making friends instead of war * New energy policies - oil isn't that important * Campaign finance reform - term limits (break the money/power connection) * Electronic voting - election theft must end * Corporate responsibility - limits on corporate power (should be its own thread) Yup, we have left everything to the last possible minute. The next few years will tell the tale. I don't have kids myself so my concern is for the continuing generations of others.
