LdyAuburn -> fetish patterns (1/18/2005 11:34:17 PM)

Being big and busty I was wondering if anyone else had had success with sewing patterns? My submissive sews for me and has done for the last couple of years. PVC has been interesting to sew to say the least. Recently we obtained the 'making latex clothing' book.
Was inquiring about corsets? Shrugs etc?

I'm able to sew basic things and would love to chat with another that shares my intrests and I know what you mean when I've got all my pads in I become a 30D so most patterns don't fit right and I don't have the money to go out and get new pads (they are frightfully expensive!!! somecosting upto $5/600 a set) so I have dresses that fit on top but not below I'd LOVE to hear any tips she/he may have learn about that kind of sewing.

You might try a web search for fetish wear patterns. Good luck.

As far as most fetsih clothing. . .I buy. Most of the bigger places offer a "custom" option for those that might have anatomy different from the mainstream.

As far as corsets. . .if the person making them can draft patterns, then that is probably the best way to go. There are samples of bodices all over the net. If the person is a beginner, then a ready made pattern might be the way to go. . .places such as
ageless patters
patterns of time
corsetmakingsupplies sell premade patterns.

ALso, if you go to walmart or a sewing place like hancock's have those pattern books. Go to the civil war or costume or ranaissance area of the book. They usually have corset patterns.

Hope this helps.

There are at least two corset making groups on Yahoo. And here is a list of helpful links for corset construction which has been recommended:

As for corsets.
They are hard. I sew a lot. Corsets completely ellude me. No matter how often I try...

Anyway, I -highly- recomend Black Rayne (www.blackrayne.com) for corsets. All of her work is custom, I've seen it on people of all sizes. She's also quite affordable.

Her work isn't designed for conistant tightlacing, so if you're waist training I wouldn't recomend her. However as a fashion corset with a -great- reduction she's wonderful. (I wear mine fairly regularly and it's holding up nicely.)

Also, in relation to sewing them. I've heared the Laughing Moon patterns and kits are great for begininers. I haven't tried them, so I can't say either way.

if you go to www.romantasy.com their corsets are all custom too and are good for daily wear to waist training they make the corset for both jobs, decent pricing too.

Ann Grogan (the owner of Romantasy) is just a 'middle-man' and doesn't actually make any product herself. You would be better off going directly to the corsetieres she deals with. Factory direct is always the way to go.

agreed. Especially for custom work. It isn't that much more to get custom work, and it's worth it.

thank you, I appreciate the input.

OH I know that but I didn't see the contact info for the indivdual corset makers when I placed my order otherwise I would have.

I sew a little. I did buy a pattern and material for a corset but didn't ever get it together. It seemed a little beyond my abilities when I actually got down to trying it. As far as sites to buy corsets go, I like axfords.com.

Take care :)

Wholeheartedly agree -- Axfords is great!

I'd also recommend:

Vollers and Stormy Leather
